These statistics do not tell the whole story - countless hours went into these projects as onCORE operates by two key principles: 1) originating quality projects with a development-first approach and 2) fostering genuine relationships with landowners. Every project was rigorously vetted to identify any potential red flags and minimize attrition. Every landowner relationship is being continuously maintained to ensure both parties are content and in the loop as they work towards a 20+ year partnership. With National Grid and other utilities putting the onus on developers to procure critical utility easements to bring projects online, onCORE is supporting developers and IPP's to procure the easements quickly and cost-effectively. Our vast experience with development, site acquisition and interfacing with utilities sets us apart and our track record speaks for itself. Our most recent project required 12 easements in National Grid to bring a project online. In just 65 days, all 12 easements were signed and approved by the utility, clearing the way for PTO. A major shift is underway in the Western energy market. New WECC data shows electricity demand is set to grow four times faster than the last decade, fueled by rapid data center expansion and industrial growth. Here are the key growth drivers: → Data centers ramping up operations. → New manufacturing facilities coming online. → Increased electrification across industries. → Cryptocurrency operations adding load. While 172 GW of new generation is planned, the numbers reveal a challenge: Only 76% of planned projects were completed between 2018-2023. In 2023, this dropped to just 53% completion. Meanwhile, 25.85 GW of baseload generation is retiring. The gap between rising demand and struggling supply creates clear a need for renewables and an opportunity for developers. MISO has announced a complete pause of its 2024 queue cycle to roll out automated study processes. This decision will have major impacts on developers in the region. Timeline updates: → 2023 queue class (123 GW) starts processing in early 2025. → No 2024 queue cycle at all. → 2025 cycle set to open in Q3 2025. Here’ what’s changing: 1) Automated Study System → Powered by Pearl Street Technologies. 2) Streamlined Network Upgrades → Quicker, more efficient assessments. 3) Improved Feasibility Screening → Better insights before the queue process. 4) Faster Validations → Cuts down technical bottlenecks. 5) Clearer Study Outcomes → Greater transparency on costs and timelines. While the pause may slow things down now, it’s paving the way for faster processing and more predictable costs in the future. Developers will need to adjust, but the long-term benefits could change the game for project approvals.
