What an incredible experience speaking at the Oklahoma Department of Mental Health & Substance Abuse Services’ Momentum 2024 Conference! The energy and dedication in that room of 1,200 professionals was nothing short of inspiring. From clinicians, physicians, and hospital staff to therapists, law enforcement, crisis response teams, and preventionists—every single attendee came with a servant heart and a mission to make a difference in their communities. I had the honor of delivering the plenary session and two breakout sessions focused on stress, resilience, and leadership. These topics are close to my heart, and seeing the passion and commitment from this audience reminded me why this work matters. Their openness to learning, growing, and supporting one another embodies true leadership. A huge thank you to the Oklahoma Department of Mental Health & Substance Abuse Services for hosting such a powerful event and for giving me the opportunity to be part of it. Special recognition goes to Allie Friesen the new commissioner of ODMHSAS, whose leadership is already making waves. The entire event team Kimberly Biard, Allison Woodard and more deserves a standing ovation for orchestrating such a seamless and impactful experience. You are all heroes in your own right, and it was a privilege to contribute to your journey. To my network: let’s continue to champion and support the critical work being done by professionals in the behavioral and mental health field. Their resilience and leadership inspire us all. #Momentum2024 #ODMHSAS #MentalHealth #Resilience #Leadership #ServantHeart #Leadershipspeaker #Resiliencespeaker

City of Oklahoma City has seen a 57% DROP ⬇️ in police dispatches to mental health-related calls—thanks to the transformative partnerships with our #988 Mental Health Lifeline, expanded city services, and enhanced community-driven programs. Why it matters: This shift ensures that Oklahomans in crisis receive specialized support from mental health professionals, freeing up law enforcement to focus on public safety instead of emergency intervention when appropriate. Commissioner Allie Friesen says it best: “By working closely with partners like OKCPD, we are reshaping how crises are handled across the state and setting a powerful example of what’s possible when we invest in mental health.” 📰 Read the full press release here: https://bit.ly/4ijN6Jr. #CommunityOfChange #MentalHealthMatters
