Last week, nearly 1,200 attendees joined us for the sold-out 2024 Momentum Conference, our three-day event dedicated to advancing mental health, prevention, recovery, and criminal justice behavioral health in Oklahoma!
From engaging with leaders to gaining practical tools in over 70 sessions, we took meaningful steps toward reducing suicide and substance abuse rates and strengthening the continuum of care for Oklahomans.
An enormous thank-you to our Training Institute team, session monitors, and volunteers whose hard work made this event an unforgettable success. Let’s keep building momentum to make a lasting impact! #MomentumConference#CommunityOfChange
Yesterday kicked off Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) National Prevention Week, a national health education platform that promotes the world we want to see—where prevention efforts help keep people and communities healthy & safe.
SAMHSA’s National Survey on Drug Use and Health revealed an estimated 21.5 million adults had both a mental illness and at least one substance use disorder in the past year. At BSRI, we’re proud to support many client organizations who are working to address these issues and support affected individuals and communities.
Want to get involved? Share your unique story by using the #MyPreventionStory hashtag across social media, download their planning toolkit or help spread the word!
Join us in raising awareness about these health topics during #NationalPreventionWeek24!

🧠 Fact Friday 🧠
Did you know that suicide is the 2nd leading cause of death for people ages 10-34? 💔 But here's an important fact: Talking about suicide doesn't cause suicidal thoughts. In reality, open conversations about depression and suicidal feelings can be the first step toward getting help. 💬
That's why programs like QPR (Question, Persuade, Refer) are so crucial. Just like CPR, QPR teaches us how to respond in moments of crisis. Region 3 Behavioral Health Services offers skilled trainers ready to work with a variety of ages and skill levels. Let’s be prepared to make a difference! 🙌

I ABSOLUTELY SEE NOTHING WRONG WITH CRYPTOCURRENCY.
I CAN UNDERSTAND WHY THE INFANT DEMOCRATIC-CAPITALISTIC MINDS OF TODAY BLAME THE USA GOVERNMENT. THAT SAID THEN IS ANY GOVERNMENT TO BE BLAMED FOR THE HOMELESS PROBLEMS PLAGUING THE WORLD.?... NO. GOD KNOWS ALL THE HEADACHES USA GOVERNMENT HAVE WITH THE FOREIGN AFFAIRS. THE NEW WORLD IS PRACTICALLY A SHOCK TO WITNESS. PEOPLE "ONLY WORKING" TOGETHER FOR A COMMON GOAL... "IN THE PURSUIT OF HAPPINESS." THUS DOESN'T THAT ALSO INCLUDE THE HOMELESS. THE HOMELESS ARE OUT THERE...
ARE YOU.?
HOMELESS A OPPORTUNITY MISUNDERSTOOD.....
The modern economic system is a market economy, which is a capitalist economy where people, not the government--NOT THE GOVERNMENT--own most businesses. In a capitalist economy, prices allocate capital and labor between competing uses, and capital assets like factories, mines, and railroads can be privately owned and controlled.
https://lnkd.in/eB98Jnv9 GOOGLE.
EXAMPLE, IF YOU NEED TO RAISE MONEY FOR ANY REASON OR MORE SO LETS SAY THE "HOMELESS" PROBLEM WHICH IS BELIEVED TO BE TIME & MONEY CONSUMING BUT IN ONE DIRECTION TOWARD THE HOMELESS.
HOWEVER CRYPTOCURRENCY CAN POSSIBLE ALLOWS AN EXPENDITURE OF CURRENCY TO BENEFIT ALL WHO USES THE CRYPTO & REGARDLESS OF HOW IT'S CONSUMED.
THEREFORE IF A CRYPTO "HOMELESS" CURRENCY EXISTED IT'S MORE HIGHLY LIKELY THAT THE HOMELESS PROBLEM CAN BE VANQUISHED BECAUSE CURRENCY-FINANCES IT'S ALWAYS AVAILABLE TO BE TAPPED INTO FOR HOMELESS RESOLUTIONS.

Recently, at an internal conference for our board members – that brings together eight different Boards of Directors (all under the Centerstone umbrella) – we hosted a panel on: What the Election Results Mean for the Future of Behavioral Health.
Our internal “All Boards” meeting was about one week after the General Election. As it neared closer to the event, even for me, it felt like we were taking a risk – we had never brought a bipartisan policy dialogue so fresh off an election – to the forefront of our boards. However, I also knew the caliber of our panelists – deeply respected and trusted professionals with immense subject matter expertise as well as our mission (Delivering Care that Changes Lives) – would be the core of any conversation.
After that panel, here is some of the feedback I’ve heard from our board leadership:
💡 The candor and professionalism of the three panelists created an opportunity for an intellectual and honest dialogue that was thought provoking, inspiring, and truly refreshing to hear
✔ I learned so much
✔ It was the best event I’ve attended as a board member
✔ It was realistic, direct, and collegial – the kind of conversation I’ve been wanting to hear for some time
For me, this event and the dialogue that occurred was a powerful reminder of the meaning that can be found in candid, collegial dialogues across multiple perspectives and how - we, as leaders - can facilitate those opportunities to strengthen culture and mission. #DeliveringCareThatChangesLives
Centerstone leaders hosted a riveting dialogue on what the election results mean for the future of behavioral health. Steve McCaffrey moderated a thought-provoking dialogue with Linda Rosenberg and Deborah Taylor Tate – leaving us all hopeful and thankful for the immense bipartisan support that exists for mental health and substance use disorder treatment.
