CONGRATULATIONS ARE IN ORDER! We are so excited to learn that Becky Dumoulin of our Berlin Community Services Center has been chosen as this year’s Direct Service Provider of the Year! Becky has been a direct support professional with Northern Human Services for more than 11 years. "The Direct Support Professionals Award Planning Committee wishes to recognize the outstanding people throughout the state who support individuals with developmental disabilities in the community. After reviewing the nominees for New Hampshire Direct Support Professional of the Year, the committee has selected Becky as this year’s winner!" Becky was nominated by Berlin Team Leads, Erin Holbrook and Mark Knowlton. A formal recognition ceremony will take place on the steps of the NH State House on Friday, September 13. Here are some excerpts from her nomination... "Becky has a deep understanding and commitment to the principles of community inclusion, and has created opportunities for integration that otherwise might not exist. Becky is dedicated to the people she supports and uses her social connections, special talents, and deep desire to affect change to overcome the unique obstacles that face individuals living with disabilities in the far northern reaches of New Hampshire." "When Becky first assumed the role of Community Integrator in 2013, she became aware of the lack of opportunity for integration within the existing community structure. Always one to roll up her sleeves and do what needs to be done, Becky exemplifies the solution to Dorothy Day’s lament, “Everyone wants a revolution, but no one wants to do the dishes.” Doing whatever it takes, even the small and unglamorous things, is what Becky set out and did." Congratulations from all of us at Northern Human Services. We are incredibly lucky to have you as an integral member of our direct support team!
