We are so excited to be able to offer FOURTEEN paid summer internships for rising Juniors, Seniors, & Graduate Students attending an Historically Black College/University (HBCU) or a Minority Institution of Higher Education (MIHE) These internships range from working with our vet services team caring for our animals, to creating beautiful graphics & design for our marketing team, to crunching data & doing field work with one of our scientists. PAID Summer Internship - Genomics/Vet Sciences lab intern (official title - Studying Human and Animal Health with the Genomics & Microbiology Research Lab and Veterinary Sciences) This is a HBCU/MIHE Summer Internship The intern will assist with veterinary care of Museum species and wild reptiles and expand the animal health pipeline for the citizen science blood smear project. PAID Summer Internship - Reptiles, amphibitan & ambassador animals intern The intern will be introduced to animal husbandry and develop professional animal care skills. The role includes daily care of over 50 species of reptiles, amphibians, invertebrates, mammals, birds, and fish. Duties include habitat cleaning, diet preparation and feeding, water changes, monitoring behavior, record-keeping, enrichment, training, and participating in public feeding demonstrations. The intern will also assist with exhibit maintenance.
