Trusting in the Power and Potential of People. Since 1869.
About us
At The New York Foundling, we believe that all people—no matter circumstance or zip code—have the opportunity to reach their full potential. But for all of us, discovering what we are capable of and reaching our full potential requires support along the way. We believe and trust in the potential of all people. We work in partnership with more than 30,000 children, adults, and families each year on their own paths to stability, strength, and independence. We believe in the power of personal choice and self-determination. The New York Foundling has deliberately challenged the notion that individuals are limited by their circumstances or are incapable of making the right choice for their future. Rather, our network of programs, services, and opportunities are carefully designed for children, families, and adults to create transformational change in their own lives. We believe and invest in proven practices. With nearly 150 years of experience creating resources, tools, and social capital, we have learned from our community what works. At the same time, we’re not afraid to invest in bold new approaches that comprehensively address challenges and provide the foundation for people to drive their own future.
