Ivory: What do you know about it? https://lnkd.in/eRbbKgxx Here's a few snippets: 🐘 Punishments can be severe if you sell a non-exempt ivory item on behalf of the owner. 🐘 Exemptions are available for specific ivory objects, depending on the era they were created, for instance those termed by the law as 'pre-1918 outstandingly valuable and important items'. 🐘 The Act also gives allowance for Police and customs officers to enter, search and seize. This includes the search of premises, persons and vehicles. 🐘 The Act has the power to include other forms of animal ivory through secondary legislation and the Government has consulted on extending it to Common hippopotamus, walrus, narwhal, sperm whale, killer whale, common warthog, desert warthog and mammoth within the ban. #ivoryban #poachers #auctioneers #goodsandchattels #valuers #auctions #auctionhouse
