Since 2009, NCSD has served as the main hub of the school integration movement. Our mission is to support our 60+ members as they work to design, enact, implement, and uplift K-12 public school integration policies and practices that build cross-race/cross-class relationships, share power and resources, and co-create new realities. Our membership includes national civil rights organizations, university-based research centers, and state and local coalitions. Our work is informed by an advisory panel of scholars and researchers whose work relates to issues of equity, diversity, and desegregation/integration. We perform six core functions: convening, connecting, research, communications, leading federal policy, and supporting state and local integration.
