2024 has been an incredible year of growth—both for me as a graduate student majoring in horticulture and for the specialty crops I’ve had the privilege to work with at Mississippi State! My journey revolved around cultivating raspberries, my major research focus, along with other fascinating specialty crops like papaya, ginger, turmeric, blueberries, tea, and sweet potato slips. What made this experience truly special was witnessing the full cycle of plant life firsthand. From planting and nurturing seedlings to applying fertilizers and harvesting mature crops, I was immersed in every stage of their development. Each crop presented unique challenges and opportunities, enriching my understanding of cultivation practices and the art of sustainable agriculture. Whether it was perfecting propagation techniques for sweet potato slips, conducting cultivar and fertilizer studies on papaya, ginger, and turmeric, or using SPAD meters and plant pigment meters to measure chlorophyll content and assess plant health and maturity, this year offered invaluable hands-on experiences. For tea, we conducted fertilizer studies, harvested leaves, and sent them off for processing to evaluate tea quality—a fascinating exploration of what goes into a perfect cup. This journey has deepened my connection to agriculture and fueled my passion for exploring the limitless potential of specialty crops. I’m excited to continue learning and sharing the journey with you all! #Horticulture #SpecialtyCrops #RaspberryResearch #SustainableAgriculture #PlantScience #CultivarStudies #AgriculturalResearch #Papaya #Ginger #Turmeric #Blueberries #TeaCultivation #SweetPotato #GraduateLife #PlantHealth #CropScience #MSState #FutureOfFarming

Hey everyone! I am currently working towards a master’s degree in industrial and systems engineering at Mississippi State University, and I'm conducting a research survey to explore physical therapists’ perceptions of integrating subaquatic diagnostic technologies into hydrotherapy treatments. Subaquatic diagnostic technologies (SDTs) are tools designed to assess and monitor patients' movements, biomechanics, and progress during hydrotherapy sessions. These technologies have the potential to provide valuable data to help physical therapists tailor treatments and improve patient outcomes. Examples include Qualisys Underwater Motion Capture, FINIS Swimsense Wearable, and FINIS LaneVision AI-based Tech. If you meet the following criteria, I would greatly value your participation: • You are at least 18 years old, and • You are either a licensed physical therapist or currently enrolled in a physical therapy program at a U.S. institution. The survey will take approximately 15–20 minutes to complete, and your participation is entirely voluntary and anonymous. Your valuable insights will contribute to advancing research in hydrotherapy and diagnostic technologies. This research is supervised by Dr. Lesley Strawderman and has been approved and deemed exempt by Mississippi State University’s Institutional Review Board (Protocol #IRB-24-578). You can access the survey via the link below: https://lnkd.in/ganswXT4 Thank you so much for your time and consideration. Please feel free to share this post with anyone you know who may meet the criteria and be interested in participating.
