Registration is now open for my Business of Animation 101 workshop!! 🎉 As a refresher, I will do my best to share information about the business side of animation, so you can learn what it takes to start your own studio! Some quick FAQs: - The talk will be recorded and available to anyone who registers - The talk will be broken up into two parts: an overview of the business side of productions, and a guide to starting your own studio. - Since this is a workshop, engagement in chat will be encouraged (but not required)! - If you have questions, DM me! The workshop is free, but I am asking people to register so I can get a sense of how many people are interested: https://lnkd.in/gUiv4U4W Please share this with anyone you feel may benefit from this talk, and thanks for the support! It's been fun to put this together, and I'm excited to share what I've learned over the years so you can build something long-term, sustainable, and aligned with your needs. #Animation #AnimationWorkshop #BusinessOfAnimation #WomenInAnimation

Calling all moms! We’re thrilled to kick off the 3rd year of Momternship — our paid internship program created to equip mothers who have taken a career break with the confidence, skills and support to successfully re-enter the workforce. This year, we’ve extended the duration of the program from 10-weeks to 20-weeks. So, Momterns have more time to flex their new skills. As always: no experience in advertising is required or need to explain that “gap” on your resume — bring those mama superpowers here! We can’t wait to welcome you back. CEO/Founder of Animation Studio in NYC 🎬 | 🏆Emmy-Nominated Art Director, Animator + Motion Designer | Champion Animation for Socially Conscious Brands | 🌎 1% For the Planet Member | Speaker & Panelist 🎤

A friend of mine, Tasha Van Vlack, just took the leap into entrepreneurship by leaving her full-time job and starting her own nonprofit, The Nonprofit Hive, a platform for changemakers to build and grow their social impact communities 🌎💡. Like me, she’s also a mom, and recently asked me how I juggle being a "parent-preneur." After thinking it over, I shared my top 3 tips, and I thought I’d share them here with you! 🤔✨ 1️⃣ Set Clear "Working Hours" 🕒: If your workday is 10am-3pm, don’t mix work with personal stuff like school emails or bills. Set a separate time for those things — I keep Fridays for all my "non-work" tasks, so I can focus on work Monday-Thursday. 🙅♀️ 2️⃣ Work After the Kids Are in Bed 🌙: I get my full 8-hour workday in by doing 5-6 hours while they’re at school, and 3 hours after they’re asleep. It makes a big difference! 💼 3️⃣ Calendar EVERYTHING! 📅: Yes, even things like working out or cooking dinner! I keep a work calendar and a personal calendar, but I "invite" my business calendar to my personal events, so my "boss" (me!) knows what’s up. It sounds crazy, but it helps me stay on track with my priorities. 💪+🍴 What about you? If you're a parentpreneur, what are some of your favorite hacks? Let me know! 👇(and see my calendar snapshot below for my workout!) #ParentpreneurLife #MomBoss #EntrepreneurTips #WorkLifeBalance #worklifeintegration #momCEO

Executive creative director. Activist. Author. Champion of midlife women

CMOs. You may not have noticed, but the women in advertising have been fighting on all fronts this week: Zoe Scaman released her bombshell report on the horrific experience of being a mother in advertising. https://lnkd.in/ed25T3sJ The creative women of Australasia are up in arms after Campaign Brief's creative league table was published featuring just one woman. In 2024! https://lnkd.in/eTkmuizZ At Visible Inc we've been fighting gendered ageism. Visible Start screamed about the statistic that came out last week that almost 50% of recruiters think 57 is too old for a job. https://lnkd.in/evNqYnDE And Visible Creators, our team of elite midlife creatives, launched a campaign to highlight the fact that even though women 45+ are the world's biggest consumers, women 45+ are never employed to create ads for them. It's time for CMOs to use your firepower: Demand the mothers in your agency are happy and treated with the respect they deserve. Insist more female creatives are given your best briefs. Ensure your recruiters (and those in your agency) have undergone gendered ageism training (Jacquie Duckworth can give you all the info.) And, if you're targeting midlife women, demand that midlife women lead the damn narrative. What can everyone else do? Tag every CMO you can think of!
