Updates

  • Momcology's annual "Mom's Take a Stand" fundraising campaign with our partner Alex's Lemonade Stand Foundation has been our biggest to date. During the month of June, Momcology members hosted 176 stands in 35 states raising more than $100,000 for childhood cancer research. This makes our 3-Year Grand Total more than $250,000. Thank you to all the incredible families who held stands, donated or helped support in other ways. You are all incredible! You can still Take a Stand with us! If you are interested in hosting a Lemonade Stand throughout the year please visit https://lnkd.in/eUT-_b6V and register. Your participation will help fund cures, improve outcomes and increase awareness... one cup at a time.

  • Advocating for Advocates We are pleased to share that 2 scientific abstracts submitted by Momcology with our academic research partners were accepted for presentation at the International Society of Paediatric Oncology - SIOP Annual Meeting this year. 1. Our data collaboration and patient-family engagement platform with the University of Minnesota was accepted for an oral presentation during the pediatric cancer epidemiology track. 2. The Part 1 survey on the burden of Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia treatment with Primary Children's Hospital (UT), SickKids Hospital (Canada), and St. Jude Children's Research Hospital (TN) was accepted as a poster presentation. Thank you to our community and the families that have contributed to the advancement of science and knowledge through lived-experience on these particular projects. We look forward to sharing the data back as we prepare the posters, presentations, and manuscripts this summer. Every childhood cancer experience matters and Momcology is committed to making sure they are counted with meaning, purpose, intention, and care. #MoreTogether #Momcology #PediatricCancerCommunity #PediatricCancerSupport #SIOP2024

Every year, the first week of April is Adolescent and Young Adult (AYA) Cancer Awareness Week. This annual awareness effort is an opportunity to focus on the unique challenges facing teen and young adult cancer patients and survivors. Momcology is pleased to announce that our April educational webinar series will be focused on some of these challenges as we raise our children as patients and survivors through this transitory time in their lives. We welcome Dr. Natalie Nageeb from Children's Hospital of Philadelphia to facilitate our time together and guide us through this topic. Primary caregivers of children with cancer can join us on April 20 @ Noon eastern for education, information, support and time to connect with others.
