Follow along MLB’s Annual Food Drive Day for The Food Pantries for the Capital District 📦 Every year, all our employees come together to donate money and gather personal hygiene products and canned goods for local non-profits in need. This year Project Manager, Kelsey Martin and President, Jim Dawsey shopped at our local Price Chopper Supermarkets-Market 32 (recently renovated by MLB) in Malta to purchase, package up and deliver to families in need. It’s official! 🎉 We officially broke ground on our Summit Avenue Redevelopment project. An undertaking that will create 42 new affordable homes in place of long vacant and abandoned properties in the city of Schenectady. “This project bears a personal connection for me as my father grew up on Summit Avenue with his seven brothers and sisters. Something big is happening in Schenectady… Construction and demolition is underway on Hamilton Hill as AIKMLB Holdings plans to revitalize Summit Avenue by building 42 affordable housing units that are all-electric, energy efficient and modern. These homes will start at affordable price of $139,000 and will allow first time homebuyers and families traditionally unable to access homeownership to do so. In partnership with Aik Property Group LLC, City of Schenectady, Schenectady County Metroplex Development Authority, BCNI- Better Community Neighborhoods, The Community Preservation Corporation, New York State Homes & Community Renewal and C2 Design Group.
