About us
We envision a community where our children thrive, strong households create pathways out of poverty to prosperity, and Greater Louisville is an equitable community where zip code doesn't determine destiny. Because systemic community challenges are most often rooted in multiple causes, Metro United Way harnesses the power of donors, volunteers, thought leaders,s experts, other nonprofits, and government at all levels to ensure positive, sustainable change. Join our community on a brighter path forward. Give. Advocate. Volunteer. LIVE UNITED.

Have you heard the news?! This major grant will allow us to address the pressing issue of child well-being in Indiana, where the state ranks 24th nationally. Currently, 38% of kindergarten-aged children are unprepared for school, and 67% of fourth-graders are not proficient in reading >> https://loom.ly/COz5gIc #LIVEUNITED

We're making sure families have a holiday meal through our 14th annual Boxes of Love project! 1,600 families will receive the boxes, complete with a ham and all the fixings! Huge thanks to our own Tim Sanders for organizing and to the 100+ volunteers, our labor union partners, and business sponsors for making this happen. We can take care of each other when we #LIVEUNITED!

Tis the season of giving! 🎁 Invest in hope and support Metro United Way to help people like Jessica and Charles, a young couple who just bought their first home thanks to a program made possible by MUW: "We joined Pathway of Hope with dreams of elevating our lives and buying our first home in April, 2024. During the last 7 months, we were able to turn our dreams into reality. We bought our first home! The foundation of the home was already built but we were able to choose the interior design. It was such a magical process. We visited the property numerous times to check on progress during its completion. Shortly after buying our house, we were also able to purchase an automobile. Although we experienced some bumps in the road, our case manager made sure to support us along the way to overcome each challenge. Pathway has not only helped us become homeowners and to secure reliable transportation, but they also assisted us with budgeting, communication skills, immediate needs, and connected us with resources that we did not know existed. Pathway of Hope has continued to help us succeed and allowed us to grow in many ways. I would recommend anyone to this program. Not only have we turned our dreams into reality, but we have also gained invaluable life skills." -Jessica and Charles Donate today, any amount helps ❤️ >> https://loom.ly/5vQOeIc #giving #seasonofgiving #donate #nonprofit #LIVEUNITED

To tackle our community's toughest challenges, we must engage with policymakers across the region. Earlier this month we brought together party leaders, Indiana State Sen. Chris Garten and Kentucky State Rep. Jason Nemes, for a public forum on key issues. The conversation focused on the importance of child care investments, overcoming obstacles to affordable housing options, and inclusive workforce development practices. Thank you to everyone who came out and to One Southern Indiana Chamber & Economic Development for your partnership on this important event!
