WBENC is the gold-standard in women-owned business certification, and we're so proud to join the growing number of women-owned businesses here in the United States. Our founder, Chef Kirsten Helle Sandoval, originally created our globally inspired, healthy gourmet cooking sauces in the kitchens of pro-athletes. She worked with doctors and geneticists to develop custom recipes and meal plans for her clients, but she also wanted to give them a taste of their home or heritage so they'd enjoy their meals. Chef Kirsten custom-made her own cooking sauces for each player, blending fruits, vegetables, aromatic herbs and spices into a versatile, nutritious, do-it-all sauce that started everything she cooked for them - from the macro-based soups, stews, pasta and rice dishes, and more. Think healthy, easy, AND gourmet home-cooked meals can't be budget friendly? They can when you #MakeItWithMesadeVida! Here's a delicious, healthy, boredom-busting, easy-to-make, $20 meal idea that serves 4-6 people. *Prices based on what can be found at your Whole Foods Market this week! ▫️ 1 lb beef stew meat ($7.49/lb with Prime Membership) (or use diced chicken thighs or diced pork loin) ▫️ 1 bottle Mesa de Vida Globally Inspired Cooking Sauce (price varies by state, ranges from $8.49-9.49). The cooking sauces has vegetables, aromatics, spices and herbs already chef-crafted for you in each bottle, no oils, sugars, gums, thickeners or additives. ▫️ 1 bell pepper (about $1.25) ▫️ 1/2 large onion (around .75) ▫️ Salt to taste/health needs ▫️ 1-1/2 cups hot cooked rice or pasta, or mashed potatoes (around $1.00-1.75) ▫️ Sear the meat over medium-high heat until golden brown on all sides. ▫️ Slow cooker option: Add the meat, Mesa de Vida cooking sauce, bell pepper, onion and salt to the slow cooker, cook on low for 6-8 hours until fall-apart tender. ▫️ Skillet option: Add the bell pepper, onion and salt to the same skillet as the meat was browned in, saute for about 3 minutes before adding the Mesa de Vida cooking sauce. Cover, lower the heat to low, and cook for 30-40 minutes until the meat is fall-apart tender. ▫️ Oven braised option: Add the meat, Mesa de Vida cooking sauce, bell pepper, onion and salt to an oven-proof dish with a tight fitting lid, or foil sealed around the edges.
