The Choice for Medical Excellence

About us

McLeod Health is the region's destination for medical excellence. Our excellence extends from the Midlands to the Coast along the border of North and South Carolina - serving more than one million people. As medical needs grow – we grow, expand, and improve our facilities and services. The McLeod Health network is comprised of 7 hospitals with locations in Florence, Darlington, Dillon, Manning, Cheraw, Loris, and Little River. We have also expanded into the Carolina Forest area of Myrtle Beach with physician practices, outpatient services and a free-standing emergency department. Founded over a century ago, McLeod is a locally owned, not-for-profit healthcare system which features the strength of 850 physicians and 2,700 registered nurses, and approximately 15,000 team members. McLeod constantly seeks to improve patient care with efforts that are physician led, data-driven and evidence-based.

  • An open house was held on December 12 to introduce providers to the latest next generation robot for the treatment of lung cancer. McLeod Cardiothoracic Surgeon Dr. Srinivas Kolla and his team demonstrated features of the new robot through hands-on simulations attendees could take part in and video footage of recent surgical procedures. Advanced features of this upgraded robotic system include reduced procedure time, optimized vision and higher image resolution, and first-of-its-kind Force Feedback technology which results in less damage to the patient’s tissue because the surgeon can feel the pressure he is applying to the tissue.

  • McLeod Health Loris presented emergency equipment materials to the Loris Fire Department on Tuesday, December 17. This donation will aid in providing the proper equipment to serve with medical assistance calls for the Loris community. The McLeod Health Foundation donated emergency equipment in 2016, which can be seen in the bottom right in the photo. Clearly, the equipment has been utilized over the last 8 years. “McLeod Health understands the partnership with our EMS teams are critical to the communities we serve,” said Scott Montgomery, CEO of McLeod Health Loris. “This is another opportunity of ensuring urgent healthcare is available for residents in our area. We are all better together.”
