𝐒𝐭𝐞𝐩𝐡 𝐂𝐮𝐫𝐫𝐲 𝐒𝐡𝐨𝐨𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐌𝐚𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐜𝐥𝐚𝐬𝐬 Golden State Warriors player Stephen Curry has amassed more 3-point shots in the National Basketball Association (NBA) history - despite playing nearly 400 games fewer than Ray Allen, who is second on the list. His free-throw success percentage is 91%, which is the highest among the all-time top 20-point scorers. This success is a testament to the work he puts in along with his practice routine and dedication to the psychological work he does. He once said: “𝑇ℎ𝑎𝑡'𝑠 𝑛𝑜𝑡 𝑠𝑜𝑚𝑒𝑡ℎ𝑖𝑛𝑔 𝑦𝑜𝑢'𝑟𝑒 𝑏𝑜𝑟𝑛 𝑤𝑖𝑡ℎ—𝑦𝑜𝑢 ℎ𝑎𝑣𝑒 𝑡𝑜 𝑝𝑟𝑎𝑐𝑡𝑖𝑐𝑒 𝑖𝑡” I read the following about Curry's practice routine: 500 practice shots per day 🟰 3,500 a week 🟰14,000 a month 🟰 168,000 a year 🟰 2,520,000 practice shots (during 15-year NBA career) 🏀 In matches, he's taken over 15,000 shots and made 3,557 + 3-point field goals. 🏀 Less than 1/10 of 1% of the shots Curry has made have occurred in a game. Causation, what 'causes' what, is a big thing in academia and is clearly important in interpreting and impacting the wider world. Causation can be tricky to pin down both mathematically and philosophically.
