Recognizing the vital role companion animals play in society and the One Health responsibility of veterinary professionals, VCA Animal Hospitals and Antech Diagnostics collaborated to develop a six-step framework for integrating pets into nationwide public health responses. Validated by a study published earlier this year examining the impact of the rapid response monitoring and disease detection protocols implemented by VCA and Antech during the COVID-19 pandemic, this framework can be used to bridge human and pet health during an emerging public health crisis and help deliver fast, effective responses. For more details, check out the study published in Viruses here: https://lnkd.in/epbJDAM5 #VeterinaryScience #VeterinaryResearch #OneHealth #ProudlyMars #ABetterWorldforPets
In honor of International Day of Veterinary Medicine, we're sharing our recommended framework that we developed with Antech Diagnostics for how One Health organizations and the veterinary field can demonstrate the power of a united approach to safeguarding both human and animal health.

Scientific research fuels advancements and innovation in veterinary medicine, promoting medical excellence and helping us fulfill our purpose: #ABetterWorldForPets. To help train clinicians and clinician-scientists within our family of practices on conducting and publishing research, BluePearl Pet Hospital hosted a two-day intensive program on topics including developing a research question, how to collect and analyze data, and how to write a scientific paper. Veterinary residents and interns from BluePearl and VCA Animal Hospitals participated in the program, with mentorship support provided by VCA and Mars Veterinary Health research leaders. The program is one of many ways our Associates work together, share knowledge, and hone their veterinary skills in service of pets and the broader profession. #clinicalresearch #careerdevelopment #veterinarymedicine #ProudlyMars

Recently, Mars Veterinary Health leaders took the stage at North American Veterinary Community (NAVC)'s Evolve VetED HiVE, an event focused on how to equip tomorrow's veterinary professionals for modern veterinary practice. Our head of Digital Pet Health, Dr. Cherice Roth, joined Mars Science and Diagnostics' Chief Medical Officer, Dr. James Barr, to discuss strategies for practical management of new medical and technological advancements. Additionally, our global head of Veterinary Education, Dr. Andrew Maccabe, shared his perspectives during a panel discussion on the evolution of veterinary medical learning and what it will take for new grads to be prepared to practice now and in the future. In a rapidly changing veterinary landscape, it's critical that veterinary education—in school and continuing education—is designed with the future in mind. This event, which brought together innovative leaders from across the profession, was an important step toward achieving that goal. #veterinaryeducation #veterinarystudents #proudlyMars
