EMEA Marketing Operations Leader | Adobe Marketo Champion | Marketo Community Advisor | MUG - User Group Leader | MOPS, Marketing Automation, Mentor & much more......

Out of Office is on, my laptop locked away and I have 12 days of Christmas and New Year holiday to enjoy with family and friends. To all who I have connected with this year in person or virtually thank you and best wishes for the coming year. Here's my 2024 LinkedIn Rewind, by Coauthor: 2024 taught me that true marketing operations excellence isn't about mastering technology in isolation - it's about building bridges between technical expertise and human connection. ✨ From earning Adobe Marketo Champion Rookie of the Year to launching Ireland's first MUG (and yes, getting my latest certification during a 6-hour airport layover 😅), this year proved that when you combine technical precision with community support, magic happens. Key milestones that shaped our journey: • Presented at major industry events including MOps-Apalooza and AntiCon • Deepened MSA - The Safety Company EMEA marketing automation capabilities across multiple languages • Guided multiple cohorts through Marketo certification preparation - online and in-house. • Co-launched Ireland Marketo User Group, expanding our EMEA community's reach with Charlie Oakham and Laura Brazil (join us in February). Three posts that particularly resonated with our community: "Being part of this community has been transformative" - On becoming Adobe Marketo Champion Rookie of the Year and the power of knowledge sharing https://lnkd.in/epjS5VqE "My brain is buzzing, my heart is full of love" - MOps-Apalooza reflections on how marketing operations professionals are emerging as future C-suite leaders https://lnkd.in/eJDKTCM7 "Nothing beats the in person experience" - First Vegas Summit insights combining technical depth with community connection https://lnkd.in/exvkgsdR Looking ahead to 2025: We're focusing on expanding the Ireland MUG's impact, developing next-generation marketing operations leaders through mentorship, and pushing the boundaries of what's possible with marketing automation across EMEA. To every marketing operations professional navigating this evolving landscape: your technical expertise matters, but your willingness to share knowledge and support others matters even more. Let's keep building this incredible community together. 🌟 #MarketingOperations #AdobeMarketoEngageChampion #MarketingAutomation #CommunityLearning

Director of Marketing Strategy & Operations | Martech Leader | Speaker

“Marketing ops isn’t strategic.” That couldn’t be more wrong. I’m excited to introduce a new framework: The 7-P Model of Marketing Operations. Thanks to Mike Rizzo, Thao Ngo 💜, and Jim Williams for giving me feedback on this. Inspired by the McKinsey 7S Model, this framework helps assess your marketing org and figure out where you can strategically level up. Each “P” represents a core area you can check to identify strengths, gaps, and opportunities: 1 - PEOPLE: Do you have the right structure, talent, and change management practices in place? 2 - PLANNING: Are your marketing efforts aligned with revenue goals and business strategy? 3 - PMO: Do you have workflows and standard processes to drive operational efficiency? 4 - PLATFORMS: Is your tech stack enabling execution, integration, and GTM success? 5 - PERFORMANCE: Are you defining, tracking, and optimizing the right KPIs and metrics? 6 - PARTNERSHIPS: How well are you collaborating across product, sales, finance, and beyond? 7 - PRIORITIZATION: Are resources focused on the highest-impact initiatives? Each of these elements is interconnected—if one is broken, it impacts the entire system. Take 15 minutes today to walk through these questions and score your function. - Where are you excelling? - Where do you need to improve? The 7-P Model helps you build a balanced, effective, and scalable marketing operations function. When done right, marketing ops is one of the MOST strategic functions. #marketing #martech #marketingoperations PS: Big news! I’ve partnered with the Marketing Ops Community to create a workshop designed to create and elevate marketing operations leaders. With both on-demand and LIVE sessions, this program covers the skills you need to lead in 2024 and beyond: - Leadership and team management - Mastering technology and process design - Leveraging AI to transform your operations Join the first cohort this January—https://lnkd.in/gFSenbnT

When it comes to Community and Marketing Ops, I'm your huckleberry. Community-Led Founder of MarketingOps.com and MO Pros® - the community for Marketing Operations Professionals

Marketing Leader: I need to hire a Marketing Ops Manager. Me: Exciting! What kind of support do you already have? Do you have someone managing your data hygiene, workflows, or campaign operations? Marketing Leader: No, that’s what I’m hoping they can take over. Me: Got it. What about systems ownership? Do you have someone ensuring the CRM, Marketing Automation Platform, or other tools are fully optimized and integrated? Marketing Leader: Not yet—that would be part of their role too. Me: Ok. What about reporting? Is someone in charge of creating dashboards, analyzing campaign performance, and measuring ROI? Marketing Leader: Not exactly, but I’d expect them to own that as well. Me: Hmm, understood. Do your GTM teams—marketing, sales, and customer success—have aligned processes and shared definitions, like lifecycle stages or lead qualification criteria? Marketing Leader: We’re working on it, but they’d need to help with that too. Me: Got it. Marketing Ops Managers can earn between $100k–$150k+ annually, depending on experience. You’re expecting measurable results in, what, 6–9 months? Marketing Leader: Ideally, yes. Me: So, you’re looking to hire one person to fix processes, align teams, clean data, optimize tools, build reports, and deliver measurable ROI—without much foundation or support in place? Marketing Leader: …Is that unreasonable? Me: 🧐 Marketing Ops professionals are not magicians. 🪄 ————————— This exact situation is why we produce The State of the Marketing Operations Professional research annually—to help leaders like you understand: • What a Marketing Ops professional actually does. • How they’re measured. • The salary ranges they earn. And it’s why we’ve built this community—to give Marketing Ops pros and their teams the knowledge and support they need to succeed. Big thanks to Asher Mathew for the inspiration! • We asked the MOps Community: What’s the advice you wish someone gave you when you were starting out? 💡 Starting out in MOps can be overwhelming, but this advice reminds us of what makes this field so special—you are NOT alone. What would you tell someone just getting started?
