Securing land-use approvals has become a growing challenge everywhere, with increasingly sophisticated opposition efforts dominating local civic discussions. At the MHI NCC Fall Leadership Forum, George Passantino, Managing Partner at Passantino Andersen Communications, shared his strategies for overcoming hurdles, such as heightened costs, significant project delays or outright denials.

Eric Finnigan, Vice President of Demographic Research at John Burns Research and Consulting, delivered his Mainstage Address at the NCC Fall Leadership Forum about the four major drivers of demographic shifts and their implications for 2025. In addition, Finnigan provided an update on border developments and immigration, discussing how these factors are shaping population change and household trends.

With over 500 attendees, Douglas Holtz-Eakin kicked off the slate of sessions at the NCC Fall Leadership Forum with a Mainstage Address. Holtz-Eakin, the President of the American Action Forum, is one of Washington's most sought-after economic policy experts. During his address, he discussed the likely impact of the recent election outcome on the housing market and provided insights into potential changes in federal policy, such as tax reform and budget adjustments, that may be on the horizon.

The U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) announced that Teresa Payne will be the new Deputy Assistant Secretary for Manufactured Housing, a position created after HUD made the Office of Manufactured Housing Programs (OMHP) an independent office reporting directly to the Assistant Secretary for Housing and Federal Housing Commissioner in June. Elevating OMHP to a Deputy Assistant Secretary position at HUD gives manufactured housing a seat at the same table as the Deputy Assistant Secretaries for Single Family and Multifamily. https://lnkd.in/e2sc9xG5
