Every decision behind the wheel counts. Slow down!!!! to save lives.
While taking my son to school this morning, I drove past a vehicle-pedestrian crash that just occurred close to my neighborhood. Seeing someone lying face down in the street motionless hit me like a punch in the gut. I later confirmed they did not survive. Everyone is in a rush this time of year, and driving behavior reflects this. PLEASE - SLOW DOWN. Lives are at stake, and by simply driving more slowly and attentively, you could save one. Tragedy doesn't pause for the holidays. Be safe out there.

Very crucial information for #motorists. Especially, to keep in mind during the #Holiday Season 👇 #transportation #safety #roadways
Roadways outside airport terminals can be tricky to navigate because of a high percentage of motorists unfamiliar with the airport and the many professional drivers circulating. https://ow.ly/K2eG50UtwMs

Wishing for more funding for sidewalks, bike lanes, and Safe Routes to School? You’re in luck! Thanks to Representative Rick Larsen (D-WA), the Ranking Democrat on the House Transportation & Infrastructure Committee, there is $180 million in additional funding coming to states through the Transportation Alternatives Program. This week, Congress passed the Water Resources Development Act of 2024. As part of this bill, Congress is transferring unused funding from the TIFIA Program (Transportation Infrastructure Finance and Innovation Act) into the Surface Transportation Block Grant (STBG), which houses the Transportation Alternatives Program (TAP). At first, the bill only sent additional funding to STBG and not all the way through to TAP, but Representative Rick Larsen, a long-time champion of the Transportation Alternatives Program, secured an agreement so the funding flows all the way through the Surface Transportation Block Grant into TAP as well. Ultimately, the agreement was supported by House T&I Chair Sam Graves (R-MO), and Senate Environment and Public Works Chair Tom Carper (D-DE) and its Ranking Member Shelley Moore Capito (R-WV). Thank you for your leadership, Representative Larsen! Curious how much more money this means for your state? See the spreadsheet below. What does your community hope to build with these additional funds?
