Mobile App Development for every classroom.
About us
MAD stands for Mobile App Development and MAD-learn is a program that is teaching students how to build and launch their own mobile apps! MAD-learn enables students to quickly see their finished product and use technology creation as a means of serving the community, solving problems, building entrepreneurship and sharing ideas with the world. This innovative STEM/STEAM program builds in career exploration for students as young as the 3rd grade, all the way through high school. Students use app development as a project/problem-based learning tool across the entire curriculum (make an app on volcanoes instead of a tri-fold poster board!) Watch what teachers, students, and administrators have to say about MAD-learn here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cM78Oyv6KiM MAD-learn aims: To inspire and nurture innovation and scientific creativity in students at an early age that can develop into entrepreneurial skills and vocational prowess in programming. To pique a young child’s interest in programming by providing a high degree of motivation and success (instant gratification) with easy, rapid development of mobile applications in the introductory stages of the program. To enable the student to leverage an intuitive, child-friendly mobile learning platform (MAD-learn) to create their initial app, using their own ideas, without any knowledge of mobile app development, then adopt a progressive learning framework that teaches everything happening behind the scenes. To provide readily available, dynamic, and safe entrepreneurial opportunities through an App Feature Marketplace to which expert students (MAD-Ninjas) can contribute new features. They can contribute these features to the open-source domain for further use and expansion, or provide them as a paid feature.

Chamblee High School Engineering Concepts students were could use MAD-learn to create a social justice mobile app using the Engineering Design Process, which looks remarkably similar to the design cycle in the MAD-learn curriculum. Four students chose to help explain the voter registration and voting process to their peers, 17 to 19-year-old high school students. They were all present in Georgia, a battleground state in the 2024 Presidential Election, but they were hearing lots of confusion within their peer group about registering to vote. Voting Buddy also won the Congressional App Challenge for Congressman Hank Johnson's District (GA-04). Check it out: https://lnkd.in/eKF4iXQ6 #DCSDSTEM Doryiane W.
