To enhance the Coney Island Boardwalk post-Hurricane Sandy, a new access point near the Cyclone Roller Coaster on West 10th Street was planned. Anticipating heavy foot traffic, a deep foundation system was necessary to support the design loads. MPS helical piles were selected for their minimal disruption to existing structures and pedestrian areas. Galvin Brothers Inc. successfully installed 161 helical piles, ensuring the new access point was ready for the summer of 2016. Read more on the case study at: https://lnkd.in/e49Cx_Ma

With plans to build a water filtration facility to serve Glen Head residents, D&M Engineers and Architects strategized ways to deal with unfavorable soil conditions. They opted for helical piles to bolster the foundation of the new water filtration building. FSR was tasked with implementing a total of 55 helical piles on the site. Despite the presence of numerous underground utilities, FSR accomplished the installation of all 55 MPS helical piles within a remarkably short span of two working days. After damages caused to properties by Hurricane Sandy, One Evertrust Plaza, situated less than 1,500 feet from the Hudson River, required extra protection from storm surge. A concrete floodwall was constructed to safeguard the generators powering the building. MPS helical piles were chosen for their ability to navigate underground obstructions, including gas and sewer lines. The proximity to concrete sidewalks, remained undisturbed due to the piles' vibration-free installation. Premium Technical Services' certified installer, Ratto Construction, installed 148 MacLean helical piles at various depths and torques in 10 days to fortify the floodwall against potential lateral loads from floodwater and debris.
