A season of giving 🎅🎄🎁 This festive period, lots of our Mace colleagues have been busy volunteering for our charity partner, St Mungo's. From bucket collections at train stations in London, to hostel decorating, and wrapping presents for their service users, we hope to bring some festive cheer to people who would otherwise be homeless. 2024 is the final year of our partnership with St Mungo’s, and here are some of our proud achievements over the last five years: • Over £400k raised, potentially helping 16,200 people make it their last night sleeping rough on the streets of London. • 7,627 St Mungo’s clients funded and supported through training and employment. • 8,625 homeless people assisted via St Mungo’s Westminster Outreach Service. • £290k of pro-bono work contributed by Mace people and supply chain partners. • Over 1,000 of our colleagues have volunteered their time, benefiting over 650 St Mungo’s clients. We are extremely proud of what we have achieved and look forward to announcing our new charity partner for the next five years in the New Year! 👀 Watch this space! #MaceGroup #MaceFoundation #Volunteering #CharityPartner

📢 Sustainability First at 30 Duke Street St James's 🌍 We’re thrilled to announce our partnership with GPE, OAG Ltd, and Norsk Hydro Building Systems UK on the next phase of 30 Duke Street St James’s, a project that sets new benchmarks for sustainable development in the UK. This state-of-the-art office and retail development is pioneering the use of Hydro CIRCAL 100R - aluminium made from 100% recycled post-consumer scrap material - making it the first commercial development in the UK and the first by a Tier 1 Contractor in London to deliver this groundbreaking material. Hydro CIRCAL 100R represents a breakthrough in recycled aluminium, with a near-zero carbon footprint (0.417 kg CO₂e per kg of aluminium), which is 94% lower than the global average for primary aluminium. Via this partnership we aim for 81% of the aluminium used to be Hydro’s CIRCAL 100R, which will deliver a 82tCO₂e saving compared to standard aluminium. 🌱 Did you know at 30 Duke Street St James’s: 🔹 We’re reusing nearly 450 tonnes of reclaimed steel which will generate approx. 755tCO₂e savings 🔹 33,645 kg of the existing Portland stone will be re-used avoiding almost 62,000kg of new stone being excavated 🔹 Via the Saint-Gobain Glass Forever Scheme we’re recycling 30 tonnes of glass. All new windows will be glazed with Saint-Gobain ORAE recycled glass 🔹 Targets include BREEAM Outstanding, WELL Platinum, and NABERS UK 5 stars and a fossil fuel-free, fully electric design. With Mace as the principal contractor, designed by Make Architects in collaboration with Elliott Wood and Hoare Lea, this circular and carbon-efficient development establishes new sustainability benchmarks, serving as a model for future projects focused on circular economy principles and environmental responsibility. #MaceConstruct #PrivateSector #HydroCIRCAL Salvatore Capotosto, Turner & Townsend alinea, M3 Consulting, WICONA UK

Transforming Africa’s digital landscape💻🔌 We are delighted to announce the completion of the Africa Data Centres’ CPT 1 campus expansion in South Africa, a landmark project in Africa’s digital transformation. Since its launch in 2010, the CPT 1 campus has been pivotal in Africa's data infrastructure. Now, the expansion has more than doubled the facility’s IT capacity to 10 megawatts, including the development of three cutting-edge data halls stretching across 3,000 square metres, and 1,000 new racks for lease. With sustainability at the heart of the project, the campus now features zero water consumption for IT infrastructure and a leading power usage effectiveness rating. It is also the first project in Africa to incorporate wheeled solar power technology, highlighting our commitment to sustainability and innovation. This pioneering approach sets a new benchmark for future projects across the continent, reinforcing our vision of a more connected and sustainable Africa. #MaceConsult #MaceMEA #SouthAfrica #DataCentres

Building Peru's future: our journey continues. Over five million people in remote and disadvantaged areas of Peru are already benefiting from schools, health facilities, and river defences completed through the partnership between the UK Delivery Team (UKDT) led by Mace with our partners Arup and Gleeds and ANIN (Autoridad Nacional de Infraestructura). Marking the extension of our partnership towards a safer and sustainable Peru being extended through to the end of 2026, our team has shared some of their personal moments of pride in the progress achieved together so far. We are looking forward to continuing to support the completion and operational transition of schools and health facilities, and the delivery of large-scale river defences and city drainage projects, including the implementation of an unprecedented natural infrastructure programme and integrated early warning system.
