During this season of giving, our employees gave back to our community by volunteering and collecting donated items to support some of our local organizations. Here are a few photos and examples (in order of appearance): The Public Works department hosted a Toy Drive to provide some joy to families that needed a little help this year. Employees from every department collected toys, gift cards, and gift-wrapping materials, which were donated to the Toy Shop of Neighbors in Need, a local organization that serves the City of Lynnwood. In collaboration with the Edmond School District, the Lynnwood Police Department organized a book drive for local students in need. They teamed up with Family Resource Advocates and the school librarians from College Place and Cedar Valley Elementary to put together a fun wish list of books that students will pick up to enjoy over winter break. Last month, members of our Public Works, DBS, and Executive teams assembled hygiene kits and treat bags for Washington Kids in Transition, providing basic needs and other support to homeless and low-income students of the Edmonds School District. The City of Lynnwood Employee Food Drive collected 243 pounds of food, which provides over 240 meals to ESD students (not pictured).

Last week, the City Council adopted a proclamation declaring International Migrants Day, which was read by Council President George Hurst and accepted by Van Dinh-Kuno from Refugee & Immigrant Services NW.
