This #FunFactFriday, we're featuring Jacqueline Burnett, who just celebrated her one-year anniversary with LMD! Outside of her role as Senior Account Manager, she can be found exploring new places through physical activity and outdoor adventures. "I’ve always enjoyed exploring new places—particularly through movement," says Jacqueline. "Running is a huge part of my life, and while I appreciate friendly competition, it is about more than getting a medal. It’s about the journey. Whether I'm training for and running marathons or hiking new trails, movement allows me to connect with myself, others, and the world in a deeper way. I recently moved to Missoula, MT, which is in the mountains and has a huge outdoors community. I’m beyond excited for the hundreds of miles I plan to explore on foot in the backcountry among the beautiful alpine and prairie. I’m grateful to be able to move my body and explore new places, distances, and hidden treasures that few may ever see." #EmployeeSpotlight

Today, December 10, LMD celebrates Human Rights Day and the anniversary of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights. Since its proclamation by the United Nations General Assembly in 1948, the document has served as a pledge of the fundamental rights entitled to all people. This year's theme is "Our Rights, Our Future, Right Now." The theme reminds us to empower each other to be a force of positive change and create a better and more equitable tomorrow. #HumanRightsDay #DEIA #EqualityForAll

On December 7, we recognize National Pearl Harbor Remembrance Day. We honor the lives lost for their sacrifice and remember the U.S. Coast Guard's service in joining the U.S. Naval Forces in defending the United States on this day of infamy. #PearlHarborDay #December7

Happy Friday! We're back with another #FunFactFriday, this week highlighting LMD Senior Advisor Cathy Barrett. Outside of her role at LMD, Cathy is a photographer with a talent for nature photography. She has always loved photography, but she has a specific passion for wildlife photography, with landscape photography as a close second. "During COVID when my backyard became my connection to nature, I discovered the beauty in the light cast by a leaf turning red in the fall, the symmetry of butterfly wings, the feather patterns of the many backyard bird visitors, and the structure and complexity of fungi growing in the forest," says Cathy. "Taking the perfect shot requires lots of quiet time waiting for the moment the bird you see flitting in the nearby tree trusts you enough to land near you. It also requires a little money, so you can see cheetahs in their natural habitat playing in the evening light, a grizzly bear in Yellowstone National Park, or penguins walking alongside you on the beach in Cape Town. Where to next with my photography adventure? Possibly astrophotography, but I have to decide first if five hours in a desert alone with my camera bundled up in a down jacket competes with the bush of Africa, the deserts and mountains of the western USA, or the shores of Assateague, MD."

We have a new award to celebrate! 🎉 GDUSA Magazine recently recognized LMD in their 61st Graphic Design USA Design Awards for our MarCom/LMD-USCG Marathon Team Trading Cards social media campaign. LMD Designer Tom Hight designed the trading cards to highlight the runners from LMD and MarCom Group who participated in this year's Coast Guard Marathon race weekend. The campaign sought to capture the nostalgia and excitement of collectible trading cards but with a modern twist for social media.
