🇫🇮🌟 We are excited to meet you at #Educa 2025 in Helsingin kaupunki – Helsingfors stad – City of Helsinki, Finland! 🌟🇫🇮 At this inspiring event, Lexplore Nordic will be present to discuss reading development and how our technology can support schools in their efforts with screening and literacy instruction. We also have a special highlight to share – project leaders from Vörå Municipality, our very first municipal customer in Finland, will be joining us at our booth to share their experiences. Over the years, Vörå Municipality, Finland has worked extensively with screening, analysis, and targeted reading interventions in their schools. They will share how Lexplore has supported their efforts to enhance reading development. You can also read an article in Vasabladet from 2022, where Fredrik Westblom interviewed key figures Jari Niemelä and Carolina Lassus from Vörå about their journey and the progress they’ve achieved with Lexplore. 📖 Read the article here: Vasabladet: Vörå schools are the first in Finland to use Lexplore – "We want to improve reading skills" https://lnkd.in/dHXKiUmb Come and talk to us about how we can help more schools enhance their efforts in supporting students' reading development! A big thank you to Skellefteå kommun/Municipality in #Sweden and Society Summit for last week's inspiring conference! We had two days of action and snow, filled with lectures and workshops. Agnes Smith Jonasson, Product Manager at Lexplore, participated in an engaging Think Tank session on the theme "School of the Future 2040." Together, we explored exciting future scenarios, some of which were immediately brought to life—like the idea of a Society Summit for students, empowering them to influence their own education. Looking forward to seeing you all again next year!

  • What can digital books tell us about children's language development and reading for and with children? On Thursday, November 21, the closing conference for the research project Sprell will be held in Stavanger, Norway. Lexplore has been one of the project partners, and we are excited to share what we have contributed to the work—specifically a digital library with 160 picture books in digital format and in four languages. Sprell (Shared Reading Practices in Early Childhood Education and families for Language Learning and Literature experiences) is a research project with the overarching goal of strengthening competence and improving the quality of early childhood education. In 2021, the project received 15 million NOK in funding from the Norwegian Research Council. Led by researchers Trude Hoel and Margrethe Jernes at the Reading Center Nasjonalt lesesenter, UiS and The Department of Early Childhood Education (IBU) at Universitetet i Stavanger (UiS) the Sprell project has explored whether and how digital books and access to a digital book platform can support language development among multilingual children, reading in preschool and at home, and promote cooperation between home and preschool. In close collaboration with reading researchers and preschool teachers, Lexplore digitized 20 Norwegian picture books, with and without audio, in Norwegian, Arabic, Lithuanian, and Polish, as well as a digital book platform. The foundation for this work was research-based knowledge about reading digital books combined with existing technology for digitizing printed books. The project has resulted in a number of exciting research topics and recognized research articles, including themes related to highly relevant issues such as children and reading, and reading on screens. Now that the project has come to an end, Lexplore looks back on a few years of exciting work and valuable experiences that we will carry forward in our own future work. We also hope that many will enjoy the selection of Sprell books that are now freely available on the Reading Center's website: https://lnkd.in/dZbBanFb For more information: Sprell project https://lnkd.in/dAYgujd5 Research Council of Norway https://lnkd.in/dUnbukmT #nasjonaltlesesenter #readingcenter #lexplore #researchonreading #sprellproject #earlychildhoodeducation #readingpractices

📚✨ 🇸🇪Today, Thursday, November 14th, we celebrate National Reading Day in Sweden! 🇸🇪✨📚 Every autumn, Sweden celebrates Children’s Book Week in November, with Thursday of week 46 designated as a national reading day for all schools across the country. This tradition, established by the Swedish Institute for Children’s Books and Lärarförbundet in 1999, has spread nationwide, with schools, libraries, and municipalities deciding how to mark Children’s Book Week and Reading Day. Across the country, inspiring reading activities are being held to encourage literacy and a love for books! 📖 At Lexplore, we’re taking this opportunity to encourage all parents and caregivers to read with their children. Reading aloud together and discussing stories can greatly enhance a child's language and reading comprehension skills. 📖✨ Looking for ideas to get started with reading at home? We've gathered simple, inspiring tips here: https://lnkd.in/gvuR-5mY 🌟 Let’s make International Reading Day a celebration of joy and connection through reading! #InternationalReadingDay #ChildrensBookWeek #Lexplore #ReadingForEveryone #HomeReading
