Female EdTech Fellowship - Europe

Bildungsverwaltungsprogramme

Supporting the growth of the most promising female founders in Europe 🇪🇺 Run by the European Edtech Alliance

Info

A global survey by HolonIQ shows that only 13% (104) of women CEO lead the top 800 Edtech companies worldwide compared to 87% of men, despite women playing a prominent role in positions such as school teachers and principals (70% of the world's primary school teachers are women). We want to change that by helping existing women founders grow their business and becoming role models for the next generation of entrepreneurs. We believe in the power of networks. With this fellowship we wish to revisit traditional business networks to make this one more result-oriented in order to help female-led businesses step up: The female edtech fellowship is run by the European Edtech Alliance and meant to be a strong business focused network for the most promising women founders in European Edtech. Our fellowship is dedicated to women ready to help each other and benefit from the collective knowledge & intelligence to scale and solve business issues. Let’s join forces and pull together for a brighter future.

  • 🌟 This month, we had the privilege of welcoming Louise Doherty to the Female EdTech Fellowship! 🌟 She shared transformative insights on how female founders can communicate confidently, especially in the face of the unique challenges we encounter. One of the key points of our discussion was a critical funding bias that many of us face: 𝘮𝘢𝘭𝘦 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘧𝘦𝘮𝘢𝘭𝘦 𝘦𝘯𝘵𝘳𝘦𝘱𝘳𝘦𝘯𝘦𝘶𝘳𝘴 𝘢𝘳𝘦 𝘰𝘧𝘵𝘦𝘯 𝘢𝘴𝘬𝘦𝘥 𝘥𝘪𝘧𝘧𝘦𝘳𝘦𝘯𝘵 𝘵𝘺𝘱𝘦𝘴 𝘰𝘧 𝘲𝘶𝘦𝘴𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯𝘴 𝘣𝘺 𝘷𝘦𝘯𝘵𝘶𝘳𝘦 𝘤𝘢𝘱𝘪𝘵𝘢𝘭𝘪𝘴𝘵𝘴 (𝘝𝘊𝘴). Specifically, men tend to get 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗺𝗼𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻-𝗼𝗿𝗶𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗱 questions focused on their potential for gains, while women are more likely to face 𝗽𝗿𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻-𝗼𝗿𝗶𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗱 questions centred on avoiding losses. This subtle, but impactful, distinction can significantly influence funding outcomes. Louise helped us reflect on how we can navigate and challenge these dynamics with clarity and confidence. Her advice on reframing prevention-oriented questions into opportunity-driven responses will be a game-changer for many of us. 💡 ✨ 𝗞𝗲𝘆 𝘁𝗮𝗸𝗲𝗮𝘄𝗮𝘆: 𝗢𝘂𝗿 𝗻𝗮𝗿𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝗺𝗮𝘁𝘁𝗲𝗿𝘀. Shifting the conversation from risks to potential is a skill we can all hone. A huge thank you to Louise for empowering us with actionable strategies and for being an inspiring voice in our journey as female founders in EdTech! 💪🏼 Learn more about Louise's impactful work here: https://lnkd.in/ddN74n3e
