On Tuesday, the Service Employees International Union (#SEIU), their Local 560 and its members from the Dartmouth College men’s basketball notified Region 1 of the National Labor Relations Board (#NLRB) of a request to withdraw their petition to unionize the players. As Partner Gregg Clifton explains in a new post to our #OfficialReview sports law blog, the union made the move in advance of the forthcoming presidential administration change in order to preserve an NLRB Regional Director's finding that the basketball players were employees of Dartmouth.
