🛩️💥Day 19 of our AFMC end-of-year countdown looks at another milestone event this year -- the celebration of the C-130's 70th anniversary! Our Air Force Sustainment Center teams at Robins AFB have played a significant in modernization efforts for the C-130 through it's 70-year history, including cutting-edge avionics to augment performance in contested environments. The celebration back in August featured USAF leaders from across the enterprise and even included soldiers from the Army's 1st Battalion, 507th Parachute Infantry Regiment, Airborne and Ranger Training Brigade, who descended onto the Robins AFB flight line during the celebration. Since its first flight on Aug. 23, 1954, the C-130 has proven itself as one of the most versatile aircraft in the fleet, having carried troops and supplies from Antarctica, to the Middle East, the Pacific, and everywhere in between. 📰https://lnkd.in/gftSWrNZ (U.S. Air Force photos/coverage by Patrick Sullivan)

The Inspiring Doctrinal Innovation contest is Live as of September 16th, 2024! The IDI essay contest is a cooperative effort between The LeMay Center and AUiX to accelerate innovation in Air Force doctrine by encouraging Airmen and Guardians of all ranks and AFSC’s to read, internalize, and debate Air Force doctrine in professional writing and discourse. The prompt for this contest is: The Air Force is adopting In-Place Combat Wings, Deployable Combat Wings, and Combat Generation Wings as units of action, and is implementing an Air Staff (A-Staff) structure within each wing’s command layer. Write an essay on how the Air Force can effectively organize, train, and equip wing commanders and their A-Staff personnel for distributed control of airpower operations. What authorities and capabilities are required to allow Commanders and A-Staffs at these echelons to establish/conduct distributed control and fight within their AOR? How, (if at all), will the composition and authorities of the A-Staffs be structured differently between the three types of Wing missions? What are the necessary command relationships between units of action and the Air Force forces service component and functional air component commanders?
