As 2024 comes to a close, we’re reflecting on a year of incredible accomplishments made possible by our dedicated team of over 2,000 professionals and the invaluable partnerships that support our work. • Boosting crops, improving soils, and building climate resilience—one field at a time. For 30 years, King County’s partnership with farmers in Douglas County has transformed solids in wastewater into a sustainable resource, proving that innovation and agriculture can go hand-in-hand. Farmers credit Loop biosolids for stronger yields, better drought resilience, and healthier soils. 📽️ Watch the full video to see how this partnership is shaping the future of agriculture: https://lnkd.in/g4ZP5V2Q

  • Over the past three years, King County partnered with the Refugee Federation Service Center and local fishers from the immigrant and refugee community to close data gaps in toxic chemical monitoring in fish. We partnered with local fishers to learn which lakes, shorelines, and fish were popular to catch and eat but had not been previously tested for toxic chemicals. This collaborative research empowered communities with actionable guidance, helping families make safer, informed choices about the fish they catch and eat. Discover how this project reshaped our approach to environmental research through inclusion, transparency, and respect for community expertise.
