The Beauty and Power of Community Support in Education -- When a community comes together, incredible things happen—especially for our students. At Killeen Elementary's annual Day of Giving, the gym was filled with holiday cheer, thoughtful gifts, and the magic of togetherness. Thanks to the generosity of Luis & Shelly Salas and their team, over 1,100 personalized gifts were delivered, each child’s name proudly displayed. Moments like this go far beyond presents. They instill a sense of belonging, joy, and mutual celebration. Students not only unwrap gifts but also build lasting memories and witness the kindness of their community—a foundation that supports both their emotional well-being and academic success. This event reminds us that when we invest in our children, we’re investing in the future. #WeAreKISD

The deadline to submit Impact Aid Surveys is quickly approaching—December 18! These forms are vital for Killeen ISD to secure federal funding that directly supports our students. Back in September, our district leadership and Board of Trustees traveled to Washington, D.C., to advocate for this essential program, highlighting its importance for our schools and community. Now, we need our community's help to ensure KISD receives its full share.
