About us
Judging By The Cover: A Bookstore aims to be Fresno's premier destination for progressive literature, catering to the diverse tastes and interests of book lovers who seek narratives that celebrate marginalized stories and voices. Judging By The Cover (JBTC) will stand out as an independent bookstore dedicated to uplifting authors traditionally excluded from the literary canon. Our dream of a brick-and-mortar store and community space is on the horizon. For now, we curate a wide-ranging collection of fiction, nonfiction, and poetry that mirrors the experiences of queer, feminist, and antiracist communities on Bookshop. 30% of every sale goes towards funding our opening.

Two great news to share! The paperback of my debut novel is now available. If you'd like to read a cozy Holiday romance about second chances at love and family reconnection, this might be the book for you. You can find the book here: https://a.co/d/alX9paB Also, I'll be doing an author signing and reading at Judging by the Cover: A Bookstore on Saturday December 14 at 1pm. I'd love to see y'all there. Come for the books, stay for the books! (Seriously, they have a great selection of books by BIPOC and LGBT+ authors)

Hey, look ma! We're on TV! 👋🏽📺 We're so grateful for our friends at ABC30 for this great spotlight. Being a part of the Pop-Up Place and Chinatown Fresno Foundation's efforts to drive more traffic to the area has been incredible. As longtime Fresno Chinatown patrons, it is important to us that we not only bring folks into our store but also celebrate and share the incredible businesses that surround us in our new home. Come see us, and make a day of it! https://lnkd.in/gqg7p_U4 #smallbusiness #FresnoCA #newbusiness #independentbookstore
