3D Thinking for Transformative Growth

About us

You retain only 15% of info when words are used. But 80% of info when using your words & hands. At Jolyean Creative (pronounced like the legendary Dolly Parton song, “Jolene”), we believe in the power of imagination to transform the way we connect, work, and live. Just as children ask “why” and “how,” we encourage curiosity and creativity in everything we do. Through connecting, we build relationships that inspire. With strategic thinking, we innovate and solve problems. We celebrate creativity, embracing new possibilities to create a world full of wonder. By nurturing imaginative thinking, we encourage individuals to bring their ideas to life and shape a brighter future. A Vision Made Tangible Is A Vision Made Real You cannot simply think your way to change. In times of stuckness and uncertainty, getting your dreams out visually on paper, with digital images, or with tactile/3D models like LEGO® is a powerful way to take a step forward and can lead to transformative growth. We work with cool people who are doing cool things. Our clients want to celebrate, educate and inspire their meeting or conference attendees in a new, fun, and interactive way. They want to create a space that will enable folks to get out of their heads and into the moment, allowing them to connect, think, reflect and have FUN while learning tactical tips to expand their imaginations. We specialize in helping you: -Increase Employee Engagement & Team Collaboration- Invest in Personal/Professional Development - Foster Creativity and Fun

I am so excited! I am an Ambassador for an incredible nonprofit, passthebricks.org When I found out about the mission, I just knew I/we at Jolyean Creative had to get involved. So here's the deal: not only can I come pick up bricks that you have laying around your house (parents, am I right???), but I'm planning some fun packaging/sorting events for all to be involved. Folks who attend Jolyean workshops will have opportunities to join in on the fun and I hope to partner will other small, local businesses for some cool experiences in the future... This organization aligns with everything I'm about: ⭐ creativity ⭐ possibility ⭐ sustainability ⭐ fun I would love your support! • My great grandmother crocheted hats for NICU babies up until she died. My grandmother sang and gardened. My grandfather tinkered and crafted beautiful objects out of found materials. And my mother raised us on the magic of arts and crafts. We feel it when we engage with aesthetic objects and experiences: joy. And know we are getting the research to back it up. We're so glad to see that studies are starting to come out re: creating and the benefits to the general populations (not just in a therapeutic sense). Highlights from this article: 🔑 Engaging in creative activities can significantly boost well-being by providing meaningful spaces for expression and achievement. 🔑 Creation does not necessarily mean being "artistic or creative"; you can create by: taking risks, fostering relationships with those who are in the creative space, reframing your mindset about your creative potential, and thinking about what you loved doing as a child 🔑 Creating can be affordable and accessible; think: coloring books, doodling, knitting “Creativity has the power to foster resilience, restoration, and reconciliation...It is a cathartic antidote that can help provide a sense of meaning and purpose for humanity.” When you engage in hands-on creating, crafting, experiencing, you provide yourself with the opportunity to #pause, 3D think, and participate in #aestheticengagement. This is why we believe in transformative experiences through hands-on building (through LEGO® bricks). What creating practices and experiences (aesthetic engagement) did you grow up with? Who taught you? We would love to hear your stories! #creativity #creation #arts #aesthetics https://lnkd.in/gB--xZSD

  • Feeling stuck? In need of a positivity boost? Do you struggle with meditation as much as we do but want a chance to reap the benefits of #pause and #reflection? One of the best ways to get out of your head and into the present is with #3Dthinking (hand-mind connection!). And an easy way to do this, have fun, and support local organizations is to take classes. Here's how: 🔹 Look for workshops at your local library; most are FREE! 🔹 Check out community centers and Parks & Rec sites for community classes; generally these are low/no cost. 🔹 Is there a local sewing organization? Check out their calendar for beginner classes. 🔹 Search for local arts nonprofits; these orgs might offer community-led workshops and events! 🔹 Eventbrite and Facebook are great places to look for events of all price ranges. ▶ ▶ ▶ What ideas are we missing? In the KC area, check out and support organizations like: --Magpie Creative Reuse --ScrapsKC --Rightfully Sewn --Swoon Cookie Crafters --Nelson Atkins Museum of Art --Kemper Museum of Art --Kansas City Museum --KC Public Library --Olathe Public Library (SO many more...shout out your favorite!) • FALSE: "Getting people back to the office will increase our engagement and make them more productive"... Unfortunately, we hear this a lot from leaders who are searching for quick answers for how to solve their employee engagement issues, especially as we continue to navigate this "post pandemic" world. TRUTH: employee engagement is not the same as physical presence. And with the increase of remote work, companies are searching for more ways to intentionally engage remote workers in meaningful ways. Lack of engagement can not only lead to lack of productivity, but can lead to burnout and loneliness, which our surgeon general has declared an epidemic. HOPE: the increase ⬆ of employee engagement can actually decrease ⬇ loneliness and burnout (makes sense, right? AND is a win for employers and employees alike). But how can employers intentionally increase employee engagement? Connecting to the organization's mission is important, but what is often missing is that employees need to feel valued by the organization. One way to do this, that also works with remote workers, is to create meaningful connection experiences. These can include: 💡 Lunch & Learns hosted by volunteer employees: have employees sign up to share their work and/or passions with the organization and provide lunch 💡 Hobby Happy Hours: have teams volunteer to host online and in-person events where individuals share hobbies with those who are interested. These could include things like: board game night, craft night, baking, sharing of expertise in rare skills or certifications 💡 Turn any team meeting into a LEGO® Serious Play meeting; using bricks and storytelling about the 3D models created provides an opportunity for people to strengthen personal connections. And have fun. (of course, we can help you out with this one!) -->What successful employee engagement activities have you tried or participated in? #engagement #employeeengagement #remotework #legoseriousplay #burnout #loneliness #workshops #storytelling #connection #disconnection #meetings #happyhours
