  • Introducing The Ladder Manifesto. For those ready to begin, for those ready to reset, for those ready to commit to the plan. A manifesto for those that know you don't have to be a professional athlete to train with purpose, and you don't have to choose between your career or your kids or your fitness. You don't need to think harder to train smarter, or spend hours in the gym to get better results. This is a manifesto for the Pilates Princess, the Muscle Mommies, the Hybrid Athletes, and the dads that still got that dawg in them. This is a manifesto for the leaders, the doers, for those that know change doesn't happen to those stuck behind the screen. It's time to change. It's time to become your own influencer. This is Ladder, and this is the Ladder Manifesto.

  • Thanks for sharing the Ladder story Jessica Mathews and Fortune!! 🙏💪 --- "I stumbled upon a strength training app called Ladder, where users join one of 17 teams to get curated progressive overload training programs that run in six-week cycles. It felt like having my own personal trainer to customize my workouts, then be in my ear to give me audio cues, and help with my form. I’ve never loved going to the gym so much until now, and I’ve been surprised at how much weight I’ve been able to move since I started using it." ---"It’s hardly just me who’s a fan. Austin-based Ladder is close to hitting 150,000 paid monthly or annual subscribers this month—tripling its user base from this time last year. The startup has raised $30 million over three formal funding rounds, and it recently inked an interesting debt deal with General Catalyst for $90 million in marketing spend." ---"Gregory Stewart is aiming to have 400,000 members by start of 2026, which could more than double those figures. Stewart also explained to me how some 80% of its users, like me, weren’t using a fitness app before joining, and 50% had never tried one at all—meaning that the company has managed to tap into a gym-goer market that competitors haven’t yet been able to reach." ---“We think we’re just getting going,” Gregory Stewart says. https://lnkd.in/gyHUKMmh

  • Peloton Interactive has some explaining to do 😂

Operator building brands in fitness & wellness.

Peloton getting called out by Ladder for allegedly copying their app 👇 So let me set the stage of this feud: Ladder is a guided fitness app with audio and video based workouts. They’ve been around since 2020 Peloton, which is known for their ride along bike, just launched their own strength app. And the similarities are striking… The side by side screen comparisons are quite similar: 1️⃣ The workout player 2️⃣ The profile 3️⃣ The team trailer And I get it, there’s only so many formats a workout app can have. But that’s where the craziest part comes in… Ladder found 15 Peloton engineers using Ladder over 1,500 times since January. Clearly taking inspo, but Peloton could you have at least used a different color? Maybe red like your branding… And lastly, one of the funniest parts of this. Ladder knew this was coming. So they filmed marketing videos ahead of time calling out Peloton and just waited until Peloton launched their app to post them. Gotta tip my cap to Ladder, just an all time response. #ladder #peloton #fitness #workout #app #fitnessapp #workoutapp #news

Introducing Ladder’s newest campaign, Ladder Versus! Today, Peloton Interactive announced the release of their new strength training app, Peloton Strength+. We’ve received some curious feedback from many of our members saying that the Peloton Strength+ beta app had some striking resemblances to the Ladder app… All is fair in love and fitness and we welcome the competition. But… we’d be remiss if we didn’t have a little fun along the way. 😏 In the spirit of fun we’re releasing a campaign today called Ladder Versus, which draws inspiration from the legendary “Get a Mac” campaign of the early 2000s (a classic, and one of our favorites!). We’re flattered, Peloton. See the rest of the campaign commercials and bts about the campaign here: https://lnkd.in/gFjcrTmF

Congratulations to Gregory Stewart, Tom Digan, CFA and the entire Ladder team on a successful series B raise. As an early investor, it's exciting to see you continue to execute on your vision to bring fitness and wellness to everyone, regardless of where they are in the journey. As a B2B marketing leader, I'm grateful for the opportunity to go deep into your marketing strategy and learn from your journey. Without giving away any proprietary information, my take-aways: 1. Ladder has nailed the user onboarding experience, providing a customized path that get's every user to the aha! moment quickly and with delight. 2. Ladder has successfully scaled acquisition via paid social with very positive unit economics...in fact, so much that they can now leverage General Catalyst's Customer Value Fund to underwrite customer acquisition going forward. 3. Ladder has cracked the code on paid user retention via content, social engagement and gamification in the app...which is not easy to do in fitness. Great unit economics + sticky customers = a great recurring business. If you're looking to ladder-up your fitness routine, give Ladder a try... if you're a PLG marketer looking for inspiration to improve your onboarding flow, give Ladder a try! https://lnkd.in/gXpPdiSj

We're thrilled to announce Ladder has secured over $100M to support new growth initiatives and to reach a global audience. 🚀 The funding comes from two distinct and complementary financings: 1️⃣  $15M Series B led by Point72 Ventures (Ishan Sinha, Benjamin Shor) and ADvantage (Jeremy Pressman, John Weaver), along with PagsGroup (Steve Pagliuca, Zach Yoshor) and Series A lead investors Tapestry VC (Patrick Murphy, Audrey Miller) and LivWell Ventures (Doss Cunningham, DJ Monteilh) 2️⃣ $90M go-to-market investment from General Catalyst’s Customer Value strategy (Pranav Singhvi, Karanveer Mohan, Harry Elliott). This comes just a year after Ladder’s Series A, and is a testament to the value Ladder brings to members – giving them a plan for every workout and keeping them motivated to keep going. 💪 We’re excited for what’s to come with these new partnerships and to continue to exceed the expectations of our community! ♥️ cc: Gregory Stewart, Tom Digan, CFA https://lnkd.in/ehuWSYkK

Some hardcore consumer subscription knowledge just dropped in today's 20Growth pod, featuring Harry Stebbings and Phil Carter!! 🧠 Phil Carter, huge THANKS for sharing a few Ladder nuggets in there!! 🙏 --- “What made me fall in love with Ladder was two things, one the metrics that I saw are significantly significantly above all of the benchmarks that I teach about in my course and that I see with other companies, and then two, and this is again more art than science, is the approach that I have seen the founder and the team taking to growing their business…which is is just one that's very rooted in divergent thinking, like thinking from first principles around how we're going to beat the odds by not doing what everyone else is doing.  I was excited to take a bet on them I'm I'm a big believer in those guys.” --- “Ladder is a fitness app that has really built a following around a group coaching product. They started by recognizing that a lot of people struggle to maintain motivation with their fitness, whether that's going to the gym or running or working out at home, and so having a coach who holds you accountable but specifically a coach with a group of members who are all doing the same or similar workouts with that coach every week can be a really powerful way of maintaining user motivation, and that's obviously great for the user because they'll experience better fitness outcomes. It's also great for the business because it leads to much higher subscriber retention rates.”

Thanks for the mention CNBC (Justine Fisher)! 💪 --- "CEO Gregory Stewart said that although the company’s [Ladder]mobile workout subscription service launched in the middle of the Covid-19 pandemic, it has seen its 'most explosive' growth in the past couple of years." --- "As a mobile-first product that focuses on strength training, Stewart said Ladder’s users are mostly women and people who invest in gym memberships to access equipment. 'We’re 70% women members in our app, so as strength training has become more popular and in demand, we’ve certainly benefited from that,' Stewart said." --- "According to Stewart, 65% of Ladder’s users are taking the [Ladder] app to the gym weekly to use the equipment there. While products during the pandemic focused on home fitness consumers, he said gym-goers are now an untapped potential in the industry. ---“Most companies in our space haven’t really focused on that user, even though it’s a huge audience, 65 million in gym memberships in the U.S. …It’s a big, meaningful audience that’s motivated and excited and committed financially to their workout routine,” Stewart said. https://lnkd.in/g4ea7Ua6
