Eric Liaw has been a standout investor at IVP since he joined in 2011. His inclusion in this year’s Forbes Midas List Europe is a testament to his relentless dedication and strategic expertise in partnering with companies like Datadog, DeepL, Dream Games and UiPath. Eric’s investing journey in Europe started in 2013 with IVP’s investment in Supercell and his deep understanding of the ecosystem led him to make the bold decision to move from Silicon Valley to London in 2023 to establish IVP’s European office. He has always approached his work with precision, care and — as anyone who knows him can attest — great comedic timing. Over the past decade, Eric has traversed continents and time zones to support ambitious European founders, helping them scale from their earliest stages to IPO and beyond. His accomplishments, like UiPath’s growth to IPO, building inroads with DeepL and believing in Dream Games, underscore his commitment to excellence and his ability to deliver results. Congratulations to Eric on this well-deserved recognition 👏 https://lnkd.in/dvNGzCEE

360 billion emails are sent every day and each one is a potential risk. With attackers increasingly leveraging AI to launch phishing campaigns at scale, email security tools need to evolve. Caregiving is essential, but the tools supporting it are outdated. Many elder care facilities still rely on call bells and pull cords—inefficient systems that leave caregivers without crucial context and residents waiting too long for assistance. With the over-75 population set to double by 2030, the need for better solutions is urgent. That’s why IVP is partnering with Sage and leading their $35M Series B. Sage’s platform combines room sensors and a caregiver app to provide faster response times, better data and more transparency for families. It supports residents, caregivers and management alike, transforming elder care for a future that sorely needs it. Read more about our partnership here: https://lnkd.in/gQkChrsA

Leading a remarkable company means envisioning the future while driving results now. At our CEO gathering, Undaunted 2024, CEOs swapped hard-earned wisdom on building product, team and the future. Here is a selection of what was shared: “Work backward from the future you want to create,” declared Yamini Rangan. With AI accelerating product development, annual planning is too slow—teams need to operate in 3-6 month sprints to stay ahead. “As a founder-CEO, you have the unique ability to navigate all levels of the company. Put your ear to the ground and stay connected to your team.” George Kurtz encouraged CEOs to leverage their unique position to stay in touch with every layer of their organization. “If you’ve got 5 gears, what’s the point of being in 2nd?” asked Larry Fitzgerald Jr., who pushes to the highest level of performance, both in business and on the field. “High alignment brings high autonomy.” Liz H. fosters cohesion at Ring by prioritizing 1:1s, monthly town halls and weekly topics meetings. “Product market fit is dead in this environment.” Bipul Sinha believes finding PMF is no longer a one-time achievement but a constant pursuit, to be reevaluated every 6-9 months. “Build startups within your startup,” Jyoti Bansal insists that each new product be run like a seed-stage startup with a mini CEO, allocating engineering resources as it reaches new benchmarks, just like a Series A or B investor would. “Talent is your ONLY differentiator” and should always be your #1 operating priority. Emilie Choi said she and Brian still approve every new Coinbase hire. “Two things are true as CEO: 1. You’re going to live in a constant state of conflict AND 2. It’s important along the way to acknowledge the moments where you internalize just how special this journey is.” David McJannet recommends savoring the moments that go well. “Just make the call.” Kevin Weil shared that OpenAI has a refreshing lack of respect for the org traditional chart. Instead of asking someone who will ask someone to do it, they get it done regardless. Strength for CEOs means something different to each individual. Strength = embracing discomfort, vulnerability, creativity, authenticity, the 5th gear, NOW and so much more. Below are a few moments that capture Undaunted 2024. Here’s why we’re partnering with Parker Gilbert, Andrew Bihl, Anthony Alvernaz, and the entire team on their Series A. https://lnkd.in/ecV5D6vR
