Let's talk about the elephant in the room: multi-cloud strategy isn't always the silver bullet we think it is. New research has uncovered some uncomfortable truths about the real costs of running multiple cloud platforms. While the promise of ultimate flexibility is tempting, the reality often involves struggling to find talent who truly understands multiple platforms, managing complex security protocols across different systems, and dealing with the cognitive load of maintaining synchronized environments. The kicker? Many organizations are finding that the supposed benefits of multi-cloud setups don't always outweigh the very real challenges of implementation and maintenance. Maybe it's time we focused less on checking all the boxes and more on what actually drives value for our organizations. What's been your experience with multi-cloud strategies? Based on the paper "Strategic Decision-Making in Cloud Services" by Virginia Laurenzano, Steve Pereira, and Adrienne Shulman. #CloudComputing #TechnologyStrategy #DigitalTransformation Read the full article at the link in the comments.

"Common worldview of innovative companies in the digital economy: see APIs as mission-critical business assets, not technical components; have an outside-in view of their business; weigh near-term opportunities against a high-level mission rather than trying to adhere to rigid, long-term plans." —Unbundling the Enterprise by Stephen Fishman and Matt McLarty

"In all but the smallest endeavors, a leader’s primary contribution is not doing the work required to achieve the goal. Instead, they are responsible for everything required to enable that work to be done easily and well. This is achieved through the social circuitry by which people’s collaborative efforts are easily coordinated and integrated." —Wiring the Winning Organization by Gene Kim and Steve Spear
