Today on WXIN-TV Fox 59 anchor Angela Ganote spotlighted an incredible story of leadership and creativity: fifth-grader Emma Shelton authored “The Best Principal,” a heartfelt tribute to Shauna Lipscomb, who became the principal at Brookside School 54 this fall. Brookside is part of the Indianapolis Public Schools (IPS) community. Emma’s book celebrates the positive impact of Principal Lipscomb and was published as part of the Literacy, Entrepreneurship, and Dreams (LEAD) program, founded by Tevin Studdard, an Indianapolis Public Schools graduate. Through LEAD, students spent months working with mentors to write, design, and publish their books on Amazon—building literacy skills while sharing their unique perspectives. #TeamIPS #education #literacy
