During the IGLTA Global Convention in Osaka, Roseli Riva 何小玫 (she/her) presented an inspiring short film by Francesco Fornaini, created together with our member Let's Wed and in collaboration with Wed Me. ✨🎥 This video transports us back in time to Florence, a city that, under the Medici family, became a haven for LGBTQ+ artists, philosophers, and thinkers. Its reputation for queer inclusion was so well-known that, at the time, many European countries referred to homosexuality as "the Florentine vice." In 1512, a group of aristocrats took a stand to end the persecution of LGBTQ+ individuals in Florence—a pivotal moment that laid the groundwork for modern LGBTQ+ rights movements. Watch the video to experience a powerful story of resilience, freedom, and Florence’s lasting legacy. 🩷

Feeling nostalgic as we look back at our 2024 Global Convention in Osaka, hosted at the incredible Swissôtel Nankai Osaka! 🇯🇵 A special shoutout to all the amazing 'Heartists' at the Swissôtel for their exceptional hospitality and to Accor, a valued IGLTA Global Partner, for helping us make history! 🏳️🌈 🏳️⚧️
A lookback at the 2024 International LGBTQ+ Travel Association (IGLTA) Convention in Osaka, the association’s first ever conference held in Asia! The Swissôtel Nankai Osaka is proud to be the host hotel for this milestone convention, the first hotel in Asia and the first Accor property to receive the IGLTA accreditation, an all or nothing 8-criteria assessment focusing on LGBTQ+ inclusivity efforts of travel brands. Representing over 50 countries and territories, the convention was also the most globally diverse convention ever, highlighting Asia-Pacific as an up and coming market for LGBTQ+ travel. Osaka Pride weekend celebration at the hotel kicked off with the hotel’s monthly Faerie Drag Queen Show, its biggest to date featuring 7 Drag Queens from around Japan. The hotel’s IGLTA Convention and Osaka Pride Week celebration concluded with the hotel’s participation in the 2024 Osaka Rainbow Festa at the Ogimachi Park, along with other participating Accor Japan hotels. #Swissotel #SwissotelOsaka #IGLTA2024 IGLTA Accor Anne-Sophie Beraud Iliane Dumas Laura Rodriguez Fernandez Nicolas GODARD Shane Edwards Teruki Fujimoto Mariangela S.
