At Ideate Labs - UX Courses for Women, we are disappointed and saddened by the election results of 2024. We are especially saddened by the threat towards basic human rights and the basic dignity of women, immigrants, and BIPOC everywhere in the world. After taking some time to process and grieve, we are now more committed than ever to continuing to grow and build organic communities where women, immigrants and BIPOC feel safe, seen, heard, and supported. At Ideate Labs, our mission is to help women, immigrants and BIPOC break into tech, earn 6-figure salaries, and/or potentially start their own businesses or side hustles. Now more than ever, financial independence for ALL women is crucial. In addition to our mission, we want to be able to place women, immigrants and POC in Fortune 500 companies and large brands that VALUE and RESPECT them. Ladies, when searching for your next UX job or tech job, keep these brands in mind, especially as you work your way up the corporate ladder. Did you know that women influence over 85% of US consumer spending in 2024? Yes ladies, that is correct. You hold more power and influence than you know. This number is projected to be 75% by 2028. Now is the time to act and boycott brands or restrict use of brands that do not align with our values and ethics. We utilized an app called Goods Unite Us to check what brands we would like to boycott or limit for the rest of eternity. We also used the app to see what brands are more women-friendly and great workplaces for women in 2024, given the attack on our basic rights and dignity. We recommend ALSO checking shareholders and investors in these companies, as certain shareholders and investors tend to be more conservative and that could influence your decisions as well. https://lnkd.in/evgpwTHc

Every year, Ideate Labs sponsors 2 UX interns to join us for 4 months in the fall and spring seasons. Our UX interns work through the end-to-end UX design and UX research process for a startup idea. Interns take our program for free and receive 1:1 mentorship throughout the 4-month duration, as well as 1:1 UX career coaching support for up to 3 months after the program ends. Alumni UX interns go on to make between $85,000 -$130,000 in UX design, product design, UX research, or service design roles after they complete the program.
