ULCCS: Celebrating Centenary, Inspiring Innovation, Encouraging Coop Entrepreneurship   As Uralungal Labour Contract Co-operative Society Ltd (ULCCS Ltd), India’s leading labor cooperative society, marks its 100th anniversary, the milestone is a testament to a century of dedication, adherence to cooperative values, and unwavering commitment to innovation. Founded in 1924, ULCCS has grown from humble beginnings into a powerhouse of cooperative success, demonstrating the transformative power of collective effort and democratic ownership.   The centenary celebrations, which began in February 2024 and will continue throughout the year, serve not only as a reflection on ULCCSs remarkable journey but also as a forward-looking initiative. ULCCS is leveraging this moment to inspire a new generation to embrace the cooperative model, recognizing the vast opportunities that lie ahead. Central to these celebrations is the COOP Pitch 2024: Creating Democratically Owned Businesses for a Better Tomorrow, an event that encapsulates ULCCS’s vision for the future.   COOP Pitch 2024, organized by ULCCS in collaboration with the ICA Domus Trust (IDT), is more than just a competition—it's a call to action for young minds across the nation. Set to take place at the Indian Institute of Management, Kozhikode (IIM-K) from October 16 to 18, 2024, it aims to foster cooperative entrepreneurship among the next generation of leaders.   COOP Pitch 2024 is designed to engage and empower youth, providing a dynamic platform for aspiring entrepreneurs to explore and embrace the cooperative business model. It will immerse participants in the principles and practices of collective entrepreneurship, offering hands-on experiences guided by seasoned experts. Participants will gain a deep understanding of how cooperatives can drive inclusive and sustainable growth. COOP Pitch 2024 will focus on 5 themes that address some of the most pressing challenges of our time: · Agri-tech and Safe Food · Care Economy and Social Sector · Platform Cooperatives · Sustainability & Green Economy · Education and Skills Coop Pitch 2024 isn’t just about ideas—it’s about action. The top teams will be awarded  grant money to fuel their cooperative enterprises.
