CASE STUDY: An outpatient physical therapy clinic faced allegations of medical malpractice after a 50-year-old knee surgery patient sustained an ice burn during treatment. The primary physical therapist left a PT aide to apply ice. However, they allegedly placed the ice pack directly on the patient’s skin, leading to blisters.
