How one organization is reducing homelessness. November is National Homelessness Awareness Month. This is a time to not only acknowledge the challenges of homelessness but also to spotlight the solutions. While the news often focuses on what’s going wrong, it’s just as important to share the stories of what’s going right. Threshold, a client of Javelina, is one example of incredible, life-changing work happening at the local level. Threshold partners with property owners and operators to increase participation in affordable housing programs. Threshold (launched by HOM, Inc.) increases the number of units available to those who need them and provides critical support to low-income earners. Their impact and reach are growing. Threshold represented just 92 housing units in 2021 to an impressive 1,648 units in 26 cities today. These numbers are more than stats—they represent lives transformed and a proven path toward solving homelessness, one community at a time.
