Today, we recognize Donald Carter of The Columbia Building Company for his incredible work as Project Captain on our domestic violence safe house project in collaboration with Community Crisis Services, Inc. This vital shelter provides emergency beds for hundreds of women and children each year. Donald's dedication to this project and our mission is unmatched. This marks his second collaboration with Home Builders Care Foundation, and in 2023, he was honored with our *Community Builder Award* for going above & beyond. 🌟 Spreading Holiday Cheer at the Family Recovery Program 🌟 Yesterday, the Home Builders Care Foundation delivered 146 gift cards totaling over $4,000 to the many families who are receiving assistance at The Family Recovery Program in Baltimore City, just in time for the holidays. This incredible program, led by the inspiring, Jocelyn Gainers, Ed.D., provides a safe and supportive environment for their path to recovery from substance use. Dr. Gainers graciously gave us a tour of the facility, which includes 23 apartments. During our visit, we had the pleasure of sampling some of the delicious soup from a cooking class happening onsite - an example of the skills & resources the program provides to help families thrive. Special thanks to Jake Wittenberg (of Edgemont Builders) who serves as the Maryland Building Industry Association Baltimore City Chapter Chair and to Alex Andelsman, the Maryland Building Industry Association's Government Affairs Manager for joining us and helping with the cause. ✅ A Home Builders Care Foundation Project Completed ✅ 🌟 We're thrilled to share this video showcasing the work that has been completed in partnership with Montgomery County Coalition for the Homeless + Friends & Family Flooring. 🌟 Together, we're making a difference for the residents of the coalition's transitional apartments. The Seneca Heights Apartments bridge the gap between crisis and permanent housing. By renovating their hallway flooring they now have a safe & welcoming place to call home. Check out the video with incredible before & after photos to see the impact we're making together.
