We would like to recognize Kasi Services for partnering with us on our Piqua home this year. They provided the final cleaning of the home in preparation of the sale to our Partner Family. Thanks to Kalob and his team, the Wion and Williams family moved into a sparkling clean home! As a thank you gesture for our generous business partners in the 2024 Piqua home build project, the dedicated volunteers in our Habitat Activity Center made plaques from the Habitat Home icon. Each plaque is hand painted in the new Habitat Blue brand color and is able to be displayed on a desk or wall. Thank you Kasi Services !

We seek to build self-sufficiency for qualified families through the life-changing opportunity of homeownership.
About us
We Put Faith Into Action Our mission is seeking to put God’s love into action; Habitat brings people together to build homes, communities and hope. Habitat for Humanity of Miami and Shelby Counties, OH is a faith-based organization that envisions Miami and Shelby Counties as a place where every resident has access to quality and affordable homeownership opportunities. We seek to build self-sufficiency for residents in need through the life-changing opportunity of homeownership. We want to see vibrant neighborhoods where engaged homeowners participate in building safe and healthy communities. Habitat for Humanity of Miami and Shelby Counties, OH defines “need” as someone earning 30-50% of the average median income (AMI) for the Miami and Shelby County area. That equates to roughly a $18,050 annual income for a family of four at 30% AMI. Habitat for Humanity of Miami and Shelby Counties, OH relies on Individuals, Churches, Corporations, and Foundations to provide the financial and in-kind resources necessary to construct or rehabilitate the homes. Annually, HFHMSCO also relies on hundreds of volunteers that provide the labor to construct and rehab the homes. All this allows HFHMSCO to provide monthly mortgage rates around $300 – $500.

On Friday December 20, Habitat for Humanity celebrated the dedication of our 2024 home construction project in Piqua sponsored by the Clopay Corporation. Today we would like to share our gratitude for the two men who led the building process. Bart Denlinger, of Denlinger and Sons Builders, Inc., served as our Volunteer Construction Supervisor. He was instrumental in organizing the build schedule, overseeing contractors, making connections with local businesses, and consulting on the project. Thank you Bart! We are also thankful for the countless hours spent on the build by our Construction Manager Mark Barga. Mark was on site nearly every day to make sure things were running smoothly, to manage and assist our volunteers, and to work with contractors and laborers to keep everything on schedule. Thank you Mark! Both men served on our construction committee and it's because of their hard work and dedication that our build was able to begin in August and end in time for our partner family to move in before Christmas!

Between a steamy afternoon in August and a snowy afternoon in December, an empty lot became a home. Today Habitat staff, board, and volunteers welcomed business and community leaders to help dedicate our 2024 home build in Piqua. We are incredibly grateful to Clopay Corporation for their sponsorship of the home and their donation of the beautiful garage door. The Wion and Williams family worked hard for their home, putting in approximately 580 hours of sweat equity volunteer service. We are thrilled that they were able to sign their mortgage this morning... just five days before Christmas! Please follow our social media channels in the coming weeks for more updates and recognition of the many partners who helped Habitat and Clopay Corporation make this dream of homeownership a reality for the Wion and Williams family!

Happy Thanksgiving! There is much to be thankful for this year. We have been blessed with an incredible team of staff, volunteers, community partners, and supporters who have impacted the lives of many families. With their partnership we will continue to make a difference into 2025 and beyond. James 1:17 "Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights, who does not change like shifting shadows." Please note, our office and ReStore will be closed Thursday Nov. 28 and Friday Nov. 29 to allow staff and volunteers to celebrate the holiday with their families.

What a wonderful halfway point to our week! Today employees from Regal Rexnord joined our dedicated volunteers in the Habitat Activity Center. They were here to help build the playhouse they sponsored in support of our Home Repairs Program. The Home Repairs Program prioritizes making critical repairs and completing accessibility projects for qualifying homeowners. Our dedicated HAC volunteers walked them through the process of building and decorating the playhouse from the ground up. Great work Regal Rexnord! We look forward to these fun team-building events, and if your organization would like to sponsor a playhouse, picnic table package, or park bench package in support of the program, please contact Scott Barr at 937-332-3763.
