  • Your 'grandkid' might try to scam you this year! Here's what to look out for... It was nice to see them over the holidays. You told them to stay in touch. A few weeks go by and you get an email, Facebook message, or text from them. They're in trouble and they need your help. Can you please send them money? You might want to, but you need to wait. This could be a scam. It's called the Grandparent Scam. Your 'grandkid' that's in a pinch... It might not be your grandkid at all but a scammer impersonating them. Never click on a link that comes through text, direct message, or email. And NEVER send money without double checking! Especially not when it's 'urgent.' Make sure you KNOW beyond a shadow of a doubt, they're really who they say they are. Email addresses, social accounts, and phone numbers can be spoofed, faked, and hacked. Call or text your grandkid directly! Don't trust an email or text asking you to send money. Never!

  • Did 2024 catch your finances off guard? 😳 Make 2025 different by starting a simple savings habit now. Here is an easy plan to get you started on the right foot. At the end of everyday, round your checking account balance DOWN to the nearest dollar and transfer those spare cents into a savings account. For example... Let's say you have $1,453.28 left in checking today. Round down to $1,453.00 and transfer that $0.28 into savings tonight. Consistently, every night, add to that savings account, however small. You'll quickly build the habit. And, if you want to be a little more aggressive... Round to the nearest ten ($1,450.00) or hundred ($1,400) And, eventually you'll have built a nice little financial cushion to help out! 💰 By this time next year, you just might be surprised at how much you've manage to save!

  • It's here!!! Christmas is THIS week! You're probably going to be out and about a lot this week. DO NOT trust public Wi-Fi while you're out. Yes, free public Wi-Fi spots can be oh-so-convenient! But, bad actors can easily STEAL info on public networks. Some even set up "FAKE" hotspots mimicking legitimate ones! So enjoy that coffee shop holiday soundtrack, but wait until you’re on a password-protected network or at home to access accounts, shop online deals, or send money. And, have a GREAT Christmas week!

  • Is winter a bad time to buy a house? Should you wait for a 'better' housing market? Waiting for a buyer’s market versus a seller’s market is nearly impossible to predict (ask any real estate tycoon). If you’re ready to start house hunting, start shopping now. Don’t wait. If you find a house you like, put an offer on the table. The cost difference between the two housing markets is rarely different enough to worry about. And shopping in the winter... Sure, inventory (options) are fewer right now, but so is the competition. When you wait, you just increase the likelihood that you’ll miss out on a great opportunity. One thing to do before you start house hunting, get pre-approved. Why? https://lnkd.in/grf2WQ5a Or call our mortgage team at 1.866.236.4779
