The last few months have been busy with heaps of proposal submissions. The first one has come back and we have continued funding to work with the hempcrete extruder development. We are looking at insulative extrusions to complete our 3d printed stabilized earth wall assemblies. It’s A Wrap. ‘An idiom used to say something is finished, often the filming of a video, television, movie scene, or show.’ In our case, the work has just begun to summarize the initial input received at today’s European Hemp Industry Listening Session. Beginning with the question, “What solutions does the hemp industry need in order to expand markets for products of hemp stalks?” and through facilitated discussions, we began to learn more about how companies need to know about one another across entire supply chains; build connections between agricultural production and markets; and find private and public investments - these and other needed solution expressed seem to be similar to those on the other side of the Atlantic Ocean as well. Over the next couple of weeks a summary and interpretation will be written and made available widely. We will also be following up with the participants and others who are interested in developing next steps for working out specific ways to strategically and collaboratively advance market opportunities for biobased products manufactured from hemp, on both sides of the Atlantic.
