As a single mother of an autistic son, just 5 years old at the time, Ama faced many challenges. She struggled to navigate the complexities of maintaining her public assistance benefits, while her son was non-verbal and had difficulty communicating. But with the steady support of the case management team at HELP, Ama's life began to transform. She learned how to manage her benefits effectively, and her son, once silent, blossomed in kindergarten, thriving with the guidance and care he received. Their close partnership meant she had a steady hand to guide her through every step, from paperwork to finding the perfect apartment. Settled in her new home, Isabella expressed how much this support meant to her. “I never thought I could get to this point. My housing specialist and the realtor were there every step of the way, making sure I had everything I needed.
