  • 🎉 Hauʻoli makahiki hou! As HCF enters our 109th year, we celebrate each and every one of you. Without the continued generosity of donors across Hawai‘i and beyond, and the hard work of all of our partners, large and small, we couldn't pursue our vision of an equitable and vibrant Hawai‘i in which all our Island communities thrive. We're inspired by the spirit of giving and the collective impact you make each day and year after year. #aloha2025 #spiritofgiving #hawaiicommunity #aloha #happynewyear

  • ♥️As we reflect on 2024, one word best describes the feeling—mahalo. Our hearts are filled with gratitude for all our partners—whether they're a generous donor, a dedicated nonprofit, or a committed community voice. But we're also grateful for the team here at HCF, and their unwavering commitment to making positive change in their community. There are so many moments behind the scenes at HCF that people don’t often get to see, and, while there was a lot of hard work, we also had some fun along the way! There is a lot to celebrate for 2024, and we wanted to share a few of the most memorable moments from the HCF team this past year. Mahalo. #teamwork #hawaiicommunity #workohana #camaraderie #compassion #hawaiinonprofit #careerwithheart #meaningfulcareer

  • As we reflect on the journey of the Promising Minds initiative, we are filled with gratitude for the lasting impact created over the past six years. In its early years, Promising Minds introduced Communities of Practice, which played a pivotal role in transforming early childhood in Hawai‘i by fostering a statewide network of trauma-informed providers and organizations. Seven cohorts of Communities of Practice resulted in more than 90 early childhood providers—ranging from family childcare home providers to home visitors to preschool educators—all trained in trauma-informed practices for keiki, ‘ohana, and staff. From 2019-2022, members of the early communities of practice formed a network, including state agency and community-based partners, and made strides in shaping programs and policies, building a pipeline of trained professionals in infant and early childhood mental health, and sustaining community-driven work that ensures Hawai‘i’s youngest keiki receive the support they need to grow, heal, and thrive. These foundational efforts have laid the groundwork for a broad network that continues to grow and evolve today. As Promising Minds formally concludes at the end of 2024, we take pride in the foundation built through these shared efforts. Our heartfelt mahalo to all who have taken part and will continue to champion this meaningful work. #Throwback #PromisingMinds #CommunityImpact #MentalHealthMatters

  • 🌟Mahalo for your support in 2024.🌟 We couldn’t do the work we do without you. Our deepest mahalo goes out to the donors who generously gave to support Hawai‘i, as well as to the nonprofits, community members, and other partners whose leadership and hard work helped make a meaningful difference in the communities they serve. If you’re looking for ways to give thanks this holiday season, consider making a contribution to the Catalyst Fund of the Hawai‘i Community Foundation. This fund provides critical, behind-the-scenes support for HCF’s many programs, including administration and operating support, early seed funding for new projects, and research and development. • 🤲🏾Philanthropy in action is seen through the generosity of our donors. The Daniel K. and Millie Akaka ‘Ohana Scholarship Fund is an example of donors who put a serious focus on educating the next generation to propel Hawai‘i to find solutions to our most invasive challenges. HCF’s greatest strength is the enduring support of our donors, whose generosity and commitment enable transformative change across pivotal sectors of our community. 💜𝐘𝐨𝐮 𝐜𝐚𝐧 𝐦𝐚𝐤𝐞 𝐚𝐧 𝐢𝐦𝐩𝐚𝐜𝐭 𝐛𝐲 𝐝𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐭𝐨 𝐨𝐧𝐞 𝐨𝐟 𝐇𝐂𝐅’𝐬 𝐩𝐫𝐢𝐨𝐫𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐟𝐮𝐧𝐝𝐬. The Walk the Talk Fund is supported by contributions from HCF staff and staff activities. It’s dedicated to supporting nonprofit organizations nominated by staff for personally impacting that staff and/or for performing meaningful work in our community.
