El Campo Memorial hospital celebrated the grand opening of their new 3D Mammography System at the Ribbon Cutting of Mid Coast Women's Health Center yesterday evening. A big thank you to the Executive Director, Pamela Hunt, of the El Campo Medical Foundation. Pam worked extremely hard through fundraising and grant writing for this new technology to raise funds and meet her goal for the new system. Additionally, a big thank you goes to Amy Schoppe, Director of Radiology for Mid Coast Health System. Amy saw the need for this new technology and set a goal to bring it to El Campo Memorial Hospital. Without her vision, this new advanced service for women would not have been possible. MCHS could not be more proud of the team of El Campo Memorial Hospital and the El Campo Medical Foundation who made this new service available for the Women in Wharton County. The new 3D Mammography machine is located inside Mid Coast Women's Health Center and is now available for screening.

I’m not typically the one to post sappy, personal stories on LinkedIn but here we go. Today is a good day. It is my day to be grateful for life and how truly amazing it is to be here. Today is the 5th anniversary of my surgery after I had a seizure for the first *and only* time. Time heals all wounds, even if there is a scar left behind. The experience shaped me into the person I am today and unexpectedly opened doors, allowing me to work with wonderful people at a job I thoroughly enjoy. Life is so awesome. Life is something to be taken advantage of to its fullest. Thank you to everyone who supported me along the way. You know who you are. Had a wonderful time these past couple days at the 2024 Texas NMDOH Consortium Conference! My favorite part (obviously) was the session with Texas HIE leaders from PHIX Paso Del Norte Health Information Exchange, Connxus, and Greater Houston Healthconnect moderated by Bob Morrow, MD, MBA. HIEs play a critical role in connecting clinical information from healthcare venues of care to social data from local community-based organizations. All in the name of holistically improving the health of our region. The Health Equity Collective’s collaborative approach to developing the infrastructure necessary for closed-loop referrals to services for non-medical drivers of health (NMDOH). NMDOH such as lack of food, housing, transportation, and access to care, contribute to poor health outcomes in the US and yet there are significant gaps in services due to lack of care coordination. Excited to share our new publication that shared the framework for our regional technology-based demonstration project to facilitate closed-loop referral capacities between health care and community organizations across our region, by leveraging our health information exchange, linking existing care coordination hubs and health data platforms.
