I was honored to represent Grassroots Grocery at the Latham & Watkins Winter Festival last week. It was particularly meaningful to reconnect with Betty M. Huber, who first attended one of our Saturday Volunteer Produce Parties in the Bronx with her family. This connection was sparked by her daughter's involvement in our Student Recovery Task Force program, where she emerged as a school leader, raising awareness about food insecurity and inspiring not only her school but also her family to join her efforts. Thanks to dedicated volunteers like the Huber family, Grassroots Grocery was chosen as the beneficiary of this year’s Winter Festival auction. The proceeds raised will directly support our Deliver Double campaign (https://lnkd.in/e29aRNbf), helping us amplify our impact in communities facing food insecurity. This extraordinary journey—from the leadership of a young advocate to a family’s deep commitment—underscores the incredible power of our volunteers. They truly are the lifeblood of everything we do, and we are humbled by their willingness to go above and beyond to advance our mission and champion our movement of neighbors helping neighbors.

Kobre & Kim: Breaking Records and Building Community! 🍞🍇🥜 Yesterday at Kobre & Kim HQ, the energy was sky-high at the Grassroots Grocery Great Sandwich Race, as four teams raced to craft an incredible 1,690 sunbutter and jelly sandwiches—smashing their previous record of 1,500 sandwiches earlier this year! 🚀✨ The Happy Habañeros stole the show with a jaw-dropping 560 sandwiches, leaving the Graceful Grapefruits in a solid second place with 414 sandwiches. (WOW—Habañeros, you crushed it! 🔥) Thanks to this effort, seven communities across The Bronx, Manhattan, and Brooklyn received these sandwiches, helping to nourish our neighbors in need. ❤️ Huge gratitude to Steven Kobre for championing the cause, and to Gena Borson for setting it up. And a special shoutout to Max Kobre, who joined with two friends to kick off their dream of youth-led sandwich races across NYC! And of course, a big thank you to Julia Shapiro and Alexandra Whiteford on team GG for keeping everything smooth and fun! Kobre & Kim, you’ve raised the bar yet again—proving that when companies and communities come together, everyone wins. 💪✨ Who’s next to take on the Sandwich Race challenge? 🏁🍞🍇🥜 #CSR #CommunityEngagement #SocialImpact #YouthLeadership #NeighborsHelpingNeighbors

Deeply grateful for visionary leaders like Jonathan Adashek and partnerships that drive meaningful community impact. I first met Jonathan at a Grassroots Grocery Produce Party back in 2022 through his son’s school in Scarsdale. That day, he got a hands-on view of our work—neighbors coming together to rescue fresh produce and deliver it to communities in need. Inspired by the experience, Jonathan connected us with his incredible team at IBM, and ever since, their annual financial support has been pivotal in amplifying our mission. Last week, I had the privilege of showing Jonathan around the Hunts Point Produce Market, the heartbeat of our produce rescue operations. It was such a full-circle moment to walk through the start of this process with someone whose leadership continues to help us grow. Jonathan’s leadership at IBM—where he oversees Marketing, Communications, and Corporate Social Responsibility—reflects the power of purpose-driven decision-making. Jonathan is building bridges between innovation and impact, and we’re proud to be part of that journey. To everyone leading in the #CSR and #CorporateSocialImpact space: partnerships like this are proof that when private and nonprofit sectors collaborate, we can nourish neighborhoods and strengthen communities. Jonathan, thank you for being such a steadfast advocate of our work—and for inspiring others to join in. Together, we’re turning fresh ideas into real, meaningful change. #NeighborsHelpingNeighbors #ESGLeadership #InnovationForGood

Two years ago, a simple post on a Facebook parenting group sparked a transformation in NYC's food access landscape. 🌱 When Chase Chief Product Officer Rohan Amin discovered Grassroots Grocery, he dove in wholeheartedly. What began as monthly family volunteer sessions at our Produce Parties evolved into a profound partnership, and in December of last year, Rohan officially joined our board, bringing his dedication and vision to a whole new level. Rohan’s impact has rippled through every corner of our work. Inspired by their dad’s commitment, his boys launched a $10,000 fundraising campaign to support our mission. He secured critical operational resources through Urban Edge Properties, including a permanent home for our truck. And within Chase, he pioneered employee engagement through initiatives like our Great Sandwich Race, bringing his team together in a hands-on way to address food insecurity. By connecting us with Chase’s Force for Good team, Rohan has helped elevate our work with a best-in-class CRM, allowing us to expand our reach and amplify our impact. But what stands out most isn’t just his title or resources—it’s Rohan’s understanding that sustainable change happens at the intersection of corporate influence and grassroots action. While he’s Chase’s Chief Product Officer, at Grassroots Grocery, he’s proudly our Chief Produce Officer 🍎! This journey has deepened my understanding of leadership itself: True impact isn’t about writing checks—it’s about crafting new playbooks. Rohan Amin shows us how leaders can seamlessly weave social impact into family life, corporate roles, and community engagement. To fellow leaders: your platform isn’t just a position; it’s a catalyst for change. The question isn’t whether you can make a difference, but how you’ll choose to do so. Interested in learning how you can create a similar impact? Let’s connect! #LeadershipWithPurpose #CommunityImpact #NeighborsHelpingNeighbors #CorporateSocialResponsibility

    Chief Product Officer, Chase

Thank you, Daniel Zauderer, for such a heartfelt post. I’m so honored to be a part of the Grassroots Grocery team because of the tangible impact we are having to provide access to fresh food in NYC. What started as a family activity quickly became a passion for many of us at Chase, and I'm grateful for the opportunity to contribute in meaningful ways. Joining the board has allowed me to bring together my professional experience and personal commitment to addressing food insecurity. It's been inspiring to see my children take initiative with their fundraising campaign, and I'm proud of how they've embraced the spirit of giving back. Engaging my colleagues at Chase through events like the Great Sandwich Race and our Force for Good work highlight the power of collective action. I'm excited about the potential to reach even more communities with our expanded resources. It's a testament to what can be achieved when corporate influence meets grassroots action. Leadership to me is setting an example of making a social impact in both my work and personal lives. I encourage fellow leaders to look for ways to make a real difference in your communities. Thank you again, Dan, for your kind words and for the incredible work you do at Grassroots Grocery. I'm looking forward to continuing this journey and seeing what we can achieve together. Let's make a difference, one step at a time. #communityimpact #foodsecurity

Director of Individual Giving at Grassroots Grocery

It is the Tuesday after Thanksgiving, and it truly feels like a holiday this year. Today is GivingTuesday—a global day of generosity where we all have the opportunity to uplift causes that matter most to us and strengthen our communities. It’s been an incredible six months since I joined Grassroots Grocery, and I’m so grateful to work alongside Daniel Zauderer and the dedicated team here. Every day, I’m inspired not only by our mission to provide fresh produce weekly to an average of 1,500 families in Upper Manhattan and the Bronx, but also by the unwavering commitment of our community of volunteers and partners. On this special day, I want to invite my network to support our work in three meaningful ways: Support our first campaign ever—Deliver Double! Make a donation here: https://lnkd.in/e29aRNbf. Our goal is to raise $250,000 by December 31st. Let’s connect! I invite friends and colleagues across all industries to book a 15, 30, or 45-minute chat with me here: https://lnkd.in/e8Yx6dpb. I’d love to share more about our work and explore ways we can collaborate to address food insecurity in New York City. Volunteer at a Produce Party! Every Saturday in the Bronx, volunteers sort, pack, and deliver fresh produce to around 30 community partners. We’d love to have you join us! You can sign up here: https://lnkd.in/e2uwWEqB. Whether you donate or not, I hope you’ll consider engaging in an act of service to others this Giving Tuesday. One small step can make a meaningful impact. We are all better, together.
